Now🔸澳州幸运彩开奖结果 this🔸澳洲幸运10预测 is a map! This is just superb cartography: detailed, clear and lovely to look at. I love the way that brown is used for mountainous features, and a light blue is used for water features – it allows this information to be visible, but it doesn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t compete with the overlaid railroad lines. The map is packed with other information as well – note the three rail gauges in use in Argentina at the time.

AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 thing I do find a bit disturbing is the way that past librarians recorded information about the map – physical dimensions, scale calculations, library collection numbers, etc. – in pencil on the map itself🔸澳洲幸运10预测. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s okay if it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a discreet annotation in the margin, but this map has more than the norm.

It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s been a few years since the last time you checked out what was happening in Santiago de Chile [I last reviewed the 168澳洲十开奖网 in 2017 – Cam]. Well, times haven🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t been too kind to us down here, but I don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t want to go into details about 🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划current and future “troubles”. They🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re too complicated, so anyways…

We have a new map for the Metro de Santiago network. And a good one at that too… [though] it looks suspiciously similar to the un168澳洲十开奖网 designed by Laura Sandoval in 2018.

澳洲10开官网开奖 🔸澳洲幸运10预测says:

For me, the resemblance of this new 168澳洲十开奖网 to Laura🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s diagram is only superficial: really only apparent because the 168澳洲十开奖网 has become more diagrammatic, losing the busy street grid that used to be such a feature. This is not nearly as schematic as Laura🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s diagram, with lots of pseudo-geographical changes in direction still apparent. Though the form of the map has changed, it still uses a lot of the same design language as the 2017 map – note the distinctive terminus station markers – which is nice to see from a continuity point of view.

I do feel that the top part of the map seems a little cramped in comparison with the bottom half… some more care with the vertical spacing of stations from top to bottom using a grid could have helped here.

Very strangely, the map layers the river on top🔸澳洲幸运10预测 of the lines that cross it. While this is technically correct (the lines run in tunnels under the river), it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s simply not an important or useful piece of information and makes the route lines look disjointed and discontinuous.

Speaking of the river itself, while I appreciate the effort, I don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t think that the wave pattern texture used is particularly effective or aesthetically pleasing. A little more craftsmanship here might have resulted in something a bit better.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A shift to a more diagrammatic representation of a growing network results in something that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s perhaps just slightly better than what came before it.

What really🔸澳洲幸运10预测 caught my eye was this GIF showing the evolution of Jose🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s map, all the way from the initial red horizontal Line 1, through to a (nearly) finished map. Submission – Redesign: Metro de Santiago, Chile, 2018 by Laura Sandoval🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/santiago-laura-sandoval/ https://transitmap.net/santiago-laura-sandoval/#respond Thu, 31 May 2018 04:35:13 +0000 https://transitmap.net/santiago-jose/ Submitted by Laura, who says:

I have a love-hate relationship with Santiago’s Metro map. The current one excludes very useful information (particularly important for migrants and tourists) such as the existence of private buses to the Airport, or the commuter rail service to Nos (run by another company) that’s been working for more than a year now. It works just as well as the Metro using the same card and price, but for some reason is not mentioned.

This map was made from scratch by comparing distances between existing elements on it with the actual geography, not with the intent of being 100% geographically accurate, but to better show the relationship between the Metro and the Mapocho river (on the original one, for example, Plaza de Armas seems closer to the river than Baquedano, but in reality the opposite holds true). This map is currently being independently developed with the purpose of being distributed as a pocket map.

澳洲10开官网开奖 says:

I’ve actually had this map in my queue for quite a while – it came in during the 澳洲10开官网开奖 World Cup, as Santiago’s official map was making its way to its eventual (and perhaps controversial) victory. Not wanting to post anything that could be seen as influencing the voting one way or another, I’ve held onto it until now. Hopefully you’ll agree that it was worth the wait, as Laura’s Vignelli-like diagram is really quite lovely.

The underlying street grid of the 168澳洲十开奖网 has been removed, with only the river remaining as a geographical landmark. All the lines have been straightened as much as possible, although some curious changes in direction still remain. Personally, I would have gotten rid of the changes in direction at the ends of the 2, 3, 6 and N lines… if feel that this has crossed the line from being a map to being a diagram, and should be treated as such – which means no changes in direction along a line unless absolutely necessary.

The comprehensive legend and list of stations is most welcome and well laid out, and the inclusion of icons denoting “Ruta Roja” and “Ruta Verde” stations – a peak h🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划skip-stop service pattern much like Chicago’s old A/B service – adds another layer of useful information.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划rating: A clean and clear alternative to the 168澳洲十开奖网. Three-and-a-half stars.

This is the current map (as of May ‘17). This version has the definitive design for the newer lines under construction (Line 3 and Line 6). And finally, they’ve decided not to include the airport on the map, even tho’ there’s some rumors floating around that a planned extension of Line 1 or a new “Line 7” could reach it once and for all.

澳洲10开官网开奖 says:

This is a whole new look for the Santiago Metro diagram, previously reviewed in 2014 and 2012. The background is now grey, with a darker area representing the city proper. This works quite well, although the whole thing feels off-centred to me, with a large gap along the left edge of the page.

The route lines are much thicker compared to the previous version, which is an improvement, although the new purple Line 6 takes a very wobbly path across the city to accommodate the slightly over-complex street grid that lies beneath the route lines. The long-overdue Line 3 finally makes an appearance on the map, though it’s still shown as under construction… beaten to the punch by the afore-mentioned Line 6.

I’m sad to see the removal of the BiciMetro and BiblioMetro icons, both of which seemed to me to be unique aspects of the Metro system (And yes, I checked – both programs are still running). And speaking of icons, is this map completely missing a legend?

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划rating: A new look that seems a little bolder and more confident than previous iterations. The street grid is a little fussy and overworked, but does the job. Loses some information about services compared to older maps. 3.5 stars.

Only a short section of the red Linea 1 was actually open initially – as can be seen running across the poster about a third of the way down – and the eventual system as built today is substantially different to this vision (March 2014, 3.5 stars).

Of particular interest are the black diamonds dotted liberally around the poster, which contain Mexico City-like icons for some 40 proposed stations on the red Linea 1 and yellow Linea 2, some of which were never constructed.

Submission – 🔸澳州10开奖记录: Informational Leaflet, Metro de Santiago, 1975🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/santiago-1975/ https://transitmap.net/santiago-1975/#respond Wed, 05 Mar 2014 23:22:48 +0000 https://transitmap.net/santiago-1975/ 🔸澳洲开奖 moon-monolith sent me the new Santiago Metro map that I featured yesterday, he also sent me this fascinating old map from 1975: the year that the Metro 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划opened.

The map itself probably redefines the term “basic” 🔸澳洲开奖 it comes to 澳洲10开官网开奖, with some very coarse route lines and type-written🔸澳洲幸运10预测 station names. However, I’m more interested in the map as a very early look at the current system.

At 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划glance, it looks like the map shows two extensive lines – Lines 1 (Red) and 2 (Yellow) – with planned future routes for Lines 3, 4 and 5. However, in 1975, all that was open was a small stretch of Line 1 between San Pablo and La Moneda stations. You can just make out this section on the map, as it’s ringed with a thicker black outline – although the map makers erroneously identify the eastern end as Neptuno station, not San Pablo (which seems to be missing a station marker anyway).

So what the map really shows is the existing system, with fairly well-developed plans for the rest of Line 1 and Line 2. Then things get a little nebulous with the other planned lines. As we can see on the current map, Lines 4 and 5 follow different routes to those shown here, while (a completely different) Line 3 is still under planning to this day!

Also, due to the very🔸澳洲幸运10预测 early stages of planning shown on this map, many stations have completely different names to the current system, or were never actually built.

This map is certainly not going to win any awards for its looks, but it’s definitely a fascinating🔸澳洲幸运10预测 historical document of the early days of Santiago’s Metro.

New 168澳洲十开奖网: Metro de Santiago, Chile, 2014🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/santiago-chile-2014/ https://transitmap.net/santiago-chile-2014/#respond Tue, 04 Mar 2014 22:45:41 +0000 https://transitmap.net/santiago-chile-2014/ Here’s a new map for Santiago’s extensive Metro system. I reviewed the previous one back in March of 2012, giving it a pretty generous 3 stars.

In a way, this is really an evolution🔸澳洲幸运10预测 of the previous map, rather than a complete redesign – the routes still sit on top of a stylised street grid of the city, for example – but the execution is much more polished and stylish.

The whole city has been expanded horizontally (the map is rectangular now instead of the almost square proportions of the previous one). With more room to breathe, the labels for all the stations can be set horizontally instead of at angles for easier reading. The deletion of the express route information that was previously shown for Line 1 also helps with the cleaner look.

Informational icons have been simplified and standardised: instead of the entire (and complex) logo for the innovative BiblioMetro🔸澳洲幸运10预测 program, we now just have a quickly-identifiable (and universally understood) book icon. The standard “bike” symbol also works a lot better than the previous BiciMetro🔸澳洲幸运10预测 logo.

Things aren’t perfect, though: the poor old airport still loiters up in the top left hand corner of the map with absolutely no way illustrated to actually get there, and there’s some inconsistent and poorly drawn curves on the river. Look especially at the one to the northwest of Puente Cal y Canto station… ugly!

168澳洲十开奖网: Metro de Santiago, Chile, 2012🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/santiago/ https://transitmap.net/santiago/#comments Tue, 06 Mar 2012 21:47:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/santiago/ Here’s another example of a metro map overlaid on a city’s street grid – this time from Santiago, Chile. This system has some marvellous innovations, with a bike sharing program (BiciMetro) and libraries (BiblioMetro) integrated at many stations, but the map somewhat fails to live up to those modern, forward-thinking ideas.

Have we been there?🔸澳洲幸运10预测 No.

What we like:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 Clean layout, with large easy-to-read (if not particularly stylish) text. The roads are given the right informational weight – they’re there if you need them, but don’t detract from the main purpose of the map.

What we don’t like:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 Some very clumsy curves where routes change direction, especially on Line 5 between Las Parcelas and Del Sol and then through Baquedano.

The express route on Line 1 seems very tacked on and suffers from Adobe Illustrator “Rounded Corners” syndrome – the curves don’t nest properly with the main Line 1 route and it looks very ugly.

Some sections of the map seem overly cramped in comparison with other parts, probably a consequence of letting the street grid dictate layout.

Finally, it’s all well and good to show us where the airport is🔸澳洲幸运10预测 (way over there to the northwest of the city), but how the heck do we get there?

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划rating:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 Functional, but a little clumsy and inelegant in parts. Three stars.
