I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m sure you would find it interesting, as you have attempted to do the inverse of what Sean is doing.

澳洲10开官网开奖 🔸澳洲幸运10预测says:

This map is indeed the exact inverse of my project from 2019 to show the New York Subway in the style of the London Underground diagram, and arguably more successful as it actually works as intended (mine looks great, but is ultimately flawed as it cannot show service patterns).

🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划things 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划– Sean has absolutely nailed🔸澳洲幸运10预测 the New York Subway map style, and perhaps even improved upon it in places – I note with pleasure that all of his station labels are set horizontally, instead of the many varied angles used on the official NYC map.

There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s great attention to detail as well – all of the Tube route line colours have been swapped out with their closest MTA equivalents, meaning the 🔸澳洲10开奖网址 Line has the 7🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s purple instead of its traditional burgundy (strangely officially called “Corporate Magenta”). Similarly, all the deep tube lines get letters for route designations, while the shallower cut-and-cover lines get numbers – which emulates the letter/number distinction between the old divisions of the New York Subway.

A couple of minor things: I like to change the background col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划in insets just a little bit to help differentiate them from the main map: just a little lighter or darker can work wonders. Also, I see that Sean is selling prints of this map… so he might want to reconsider that Underground Roundel in the bottom right, as TfL are known to come down hard on any unauthorised use of it.

AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 final thing to note is that this map (as awesome as it is) really emphasises just how amazingly compact and space-efficient the Tube Diagram is – it fits legibly onto tiny Journey Planners, while this map seems to need at least an 11″ x 17″ canvas to work.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测One of the best style mash-ups I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve seen: technically excellent, well-researched and actually really informative. Wonderful!

I got interested in a 🔸澳州10开奖记录 of the Moscow Metro featured on this site some time ago (November 2012, 4 stars). The radical simplicity of the visual language, using only straight lines and circles, gives a unique quality to the map, both in its high legibility and evocative power.

Realizing that it would be geometrically impossible to recreate this design to fit today’s expanded Moscow metro network, I started to apply a similar design language to a series of metro systems around the world, selected for the intermediate complexity of their network, allowing for a compact and unique-looking map, yet somehow challenging design-wise.

Building upon the original map of Moscow, I tried out ways to display additional layers of information: branching lines, route numbers, and interchanges to other public transit networks.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

This is a great little project, Cédric! I have to admit that I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m a little surprised at how well this style adapts to all the different networks, though Munich is probably pushing it to the absolute limits of what it can achieve. As you rightly say, this technique really works best on networks of “intermediate complexity”.

Of all the examples you🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve shown, I think Milan is my favourite: a series of similar interlocking arcs all connected by the straight line axis of Line 3… wonderful! Montreal is also quite lovely, although I could imagine that people who live there could take issue with the representation of “north”, which they generally take as meaning “away from the river”.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测Great work all around, and I look forward to more diagrams made in the same style in the future!

I felt like Melbourne was so far away because of the Covid-Curtain and desperately wanted to do anything but study for uni this weekend so I made this!

It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s amazing how different the approaches to passenger commute information, up-front legibility and overall design cues differ between the rival cities.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

What a fun little project!

What I particularly like is just how far Thomas has taken the “body swap”: the real Melbourne map shows V-Line services out into regional Victoria, so the “Melbourne-ised” Sydney map does the same… whereas the official Sydney map stops at the edges of Greater Sydney, so the “Sydney-fied” Melbourne map follows suit. City Circle becomes City Loop, and vice versa. Line nomenclature gets swapped, and so on. Even service names become more like their adopted homes: V-Line becomes VicLink to mimic NSW🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s TrainLink. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s all rather wonderfully done.

Overall, Thomas has done a great job of recreating each style, although the type for the Melbourne map isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t quite the right font and should be black instead of dark gray. The big terminus lettering for Cranbourne and Frankston seems unnecessarily cramped, and I really would have liked to see the Stony Point Shuttle line use the exact shade of teal that the Sydney Metro uses – most of the work has already been done by using the same cased line and the superfluous “S” for each station marker… the right col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划just would have made everything perfect🔸澳洲幸运10预测. The Sydney map is pretty much spot-on, however – even down to the way that lines outside the “zone boundary” get compressed into very tight and unrealistic spaces.

The other main takeaway is just how much🔸澳洲幸运10预测 this version of Sydney map looks like the pre-2013 CityRail map (September 2012, 3.5 stars), which probably says something about the slightly more generic design language that the current Melbourne map uses: ticks for stations, rounded corner rectangles for interchanges, etc.

澳洲幸运十是官网开奖吗🔸Melbourne Suburban Rail in the Style of Vignelli by Philip Mallis🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/melbourne-rail-vignelli-philip-mallis/ https://transitmap.net/melbourne-rail-vignelli-philip-mallis/#respond Sat, 22 Aug 2020 01:05:45 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=12106 Originally submitted by Philip himself, with further submissions reminding me of it recently. Of the map, Philip says:

This is my interpretation of what Melbourne🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s rail network could look like in the style of the 1972 Vignelli New York Subway map.

I have depicted the current Melbourne 🔸澳洲10开奖网址 passenger rail network as it stands in 2020, plus one tram route. Given this is a map of Melbourne with the largest tram network in the world, I wanted to include at least one tram route. Why the route 96 specifically? It’s the closest thing that we have to light rail, being separated from vehicle traffic for most of its route, and it now has 100% accessible stops.

I have also taken some small liberties of rebranding the network to reflect the original work more closely.

For example, creating a new ‘🔸澳洲10开奖网址 Transport Authority’ (similar to ‘The Met’ and its various iterations) and designating a col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划and letter for each line.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

Yes, there are way too many Vignelli-esque reimaginings of 澳洲10开官网开奖 these days – see these maps of 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 and Portland that I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve previously featured – but this is a fun little diversion for a Friday afternoon.

Generally, Philip has nailed the look and feel of the Vignelli diagram well – the reimagined logo for the Melbourne “MTA” is a particularly nice touch – though I think that Vignelli🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s insistence on each service having a full route line on the map would mean that the Alamein, Belgrave and Lilydale lines would get separated out instead of appearing as branches of the one trunk line. This strict interpretation of the Vignelli style would make the City Loop completely unworkable, however, so I can see why Philip has taken this approach.

Less forgivable is the repetition of letters for line designations: only “SS” shuttle lines repeat on the Vignelli map, so I don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t think having three “S” lines (Sunbury, Sandringham, and Stony Point) is really permissible. Taking further inspiration from the source, maybe one of the “divisions” of this fantasy MTA could use numerical designations?

The map does have one masterstroke, however – the legend of services at the top clearly and plainly explains service patterns for each line, including 🔸澳洲开奖 each one goes clockwise or counter-clockwise around the Loop, long an arcane mystery. As this information is impossible to convey on a static map, this explanatory text is the best solution I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve yet seen, and perfectly in line with the similar legend on the Vignelli diagram.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A great bit of fun that looks the part, and also manages to convey some really useful rider information.

🔸澳洲幸运10在线人工计划网: Portland MAX in the Style of the Vignelli New York Subway Map🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/portland-vignelli/ https://transitmap.net/portland-vignelli/#comments Fri, 17 May 2019 14:03:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=9661 I missed this 🔸澳洲开奖 it was released yesterday, but those TriMet designers (who really do seem to have too much time on their hands!) have released another mash-up map, this time riffing off the (in)famous 1970s New York Subway diagram by Massimo Vignelli.

It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s probably the best one so far, mimicking the style almost perfectly. If you🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re going to do a homage, you may as well go all in, and that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s exactly what🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s been done here!

There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s some great little touches like the reworked TriMet logo and the way that all the services get three-letter codes (the familiar MAX and WES, but also PAT for Portland Aerial Tram, and PSC for Portland Street Car) to emulate the three-letter services of the New York Subway – IRT, IND and BMT. There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s even a subtle “folded paper map” texture, which is just lovely.

There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a PDF download of the map available here.

The final word:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 Almost perfect! Some of the added geography is a little too fussy to be truly Vignelli-esque (Oswego Lake is okay, but Johnson Creek is a bit much), but that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a truly minor nitpick. 4.5 stars.

I particularly like the “light saber” glow to the route lines. “VCC-3PO” adds a nice little bit of local flav🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划as well. Mash-up Map: TriMet MAX in the style of BART🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/trimet-as-bart/ https://transitmap.net/trimet-as-bart/#comments Thu, 24 Jan 2019 17:35:50 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=7979 Those TriMet designers are at it again! Just a week or so after their superb TriMet/WMATA mash-up comes this new map that reimagines Portland🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s MAX light rail as the Bay Area🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s BART.

On 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划glance, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s another near-perfect rendition of the source map and there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a lot of neat touches. The reworking of TriMet🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s logo to match BART🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s famous lower-case “ba” logo is wonderful, and the accurate depiction of the Red Line🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s corkscrew to get from Gateway up towards the airport is masterfully done. Reducing WES to the “Beige Line” seems somehow appropriate, and the call out box to show its limited hours is perfect🔸澳洲幸运10预测.

A couple of minor quibbles: the real BART map contains no vertical route lines at all, so they look a little “wrong” here. However, rejigging all of them to the slight rightwards angle that BART uses would be problematic, so I can see why that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s been left out. Also, it looks like the typeface used is Akzidenz Grotesk, 🔸澳洲开奖 BART uses Frutiger. Some more blue locality labels for Gresham, Beaverton, etc. would have been nice. Finally, a couple of typos that immediately stood out: “TRIMET sytem🔸澳洲幸运10预测 map” at top left, and “Albina/Missisissipi🔸澳洲幸运10预测“.

A fun reaction to this one on Twitter:

Project: New York Subway Map in the Style of the London Tube Diagram🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/new-york-london-tube-map/ https://transitmap.net/new-york-london-tube-map/#comments Tue, 22 Mar 2016 18:42:00 +0000 https://cambooth.net/?p=3567 A little while ago, someone asked me whether I had ever seen a map of the New York subway system in the style of the London Underground diagram. Rather surprisingly, I hadn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t actually come across one, so I decided to draw one up myself. Having just completed my own reworking of the Tube Map, I was already acquainted with its design rules and requirements, so this project didn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t actually take that long.

All of the subway trunk lines have been adapted to use their closest matching col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划from the Tube Map: the BMT Broadway uses the Circle line🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s yellow, the IND 6th Avenue uses the Overground🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s orange, and so on. The IRT Flushing line🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s purple gets substantially darker to use the 🔸澳洲10开奖网址 line🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s maroon, as does the IND 8th Avenue🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s blue with the Piccadilly🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s dark navy. I used the Waterloo & City line🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s sea green for New York🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s three shuttle lines, as the W&C is the only shuttle-like line on the Underground, and it looked much nicer than using the Northern line🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s heavy black. One notable thing is how terrible the IRT 7th Avenue (red) and IRT Lexington Avenue (green) lines are for colour-blind users 🔸澳洲开奖 they run adjacent to each other.

The other thing to note is that – in true Tube Map style – service patterns generally aren🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t shown. This, of course, makes this map next to useless for actually navigating the subway – there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s literally no distinction made on the map between the J and the Z, for example – but that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s the way things roll in London! I did make one tiny concession to New York🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s complexity by adding route designation bullets at the terminus stations of each service, but you🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re completely on y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划own after that. Express services, turnbacks, skipping stations at certain times: these are all trifling details that London does not even attempt🔸澳洲幸运10预测 to convey – so neither does this map.

The other departure from the true Tube Map style was the requirement to adhere to Manhattan🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s street grid as closely as possible, rather than evenly spacing the stations out along a line. As can be seen above, this mostly works pretty well, although occasionally the density of labelling required a street to be pushed slightly out of alignment.

Once the map reaches the outer boroughs, a more diagrammatic and evenly-spaced approach could be used successfully. The section of the map into Coney Island works particularly well, I think.

The complex routing of lines near Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center actually turned out pretty well. The Tube Map “dumbbell” interchange symbol is particularly ill-suited to the needs of the 4 Av–9 St station complex. Here, even an offset symbol fails to clearly show that the (orange) D service does not stop along the southbound Fourth Avenue line. The single red tick across the green route line at the Brooklyn Museum stop is also less than satisfactory, but space limitations demanded that approach.

In real life, the R and M run underneath Broadway, so it was nice to be able to line the routes up with the N and Q Broadway station tick. Little touches like this are immensely satisfying 🔸澳洲开奖 putting a complex map like this together.

Overall, this was definitely a fun little project. Applying the design language of one transit map rigorously to another system is always interesting, even though the results here are decidedly mixed. The map certainly looks attractive, but the Tube Map🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s style is ill-suited to the intricate working complexities of the New York subway system.

Of course, the letter designations for lines at every single station starts to look a bit silly with so few lines, but that’s part of the fun of the mash-up, I guess.

Amusingly, just like in New York, other rail systems get relegated to thin blue ticked route lines. In NY, it’s PATH and the LIRR – here, it’s BART and Caltrain. And the heritage streetcars/cable cars miss out all together, boo!

Still, a lot of fun and nicely executed as well.
