🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划off, one prediction I made in my previous review [October 2022] has been proven true: this map marks the end of the old colour-based line designations. No more Red Line, Blue Line, etc. – it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s now A, B, C and so on.

I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ll also note that it really does seem that someone responsible for making these maps reads this blog: my last review opined that even spacing of the station names🔸澳洲幸运10预测 along the B Line might look better than even spacing of the station dots🔸澳洲幸运10预测… and that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s exactly what we have this time around. I also like that these labels have all been set horizontally instead of on a 45-degree angle, a treatment which is now solely reserved for stations along horizontal route lines.

There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s no surprises with the depiction of the Regional Connector itself on the map: it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s been shown as being under construction for a while now, and this map keeps true to those earlier depictions. The criss-crossing route lines through downtown LA make a nice design feature, and I do like the way that the “Historic Broadway” label nestles neatly into the curve near it – a clever little touch.

A distinctive feature of previous maps has disappeared with this iteration – the white keyline around station dots that separated them from the route line they were above has been replaced with more generic dots with a white centre. I wonder if they felt the previous approach broke up the flow of the route lines too much? And while the dots for rail services are still round, and the dots for bus services are still square, they🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re a bit harder to quickly tell apart with the white centres and slightly rounded corners on the square symbols.

Another change is assigning a two-letter code to all connecting services (Amtrak, Metrolink, FlyAway and the C Line🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s Airport Shuttle). This does make the map itself look a bit cleaner, but it also means that users have to refer to the legend to work out what those two-letter codes mean instead of just reading that information in-place on the map.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测Golly, that new A Line is long🔸澳洲幸运10预测, isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t it? A fairly safe update of an already excellent map. However, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s perhaps been made a little bit more generic with the removal of what was a very distinctive design element.

🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网开奖结果走势图🔸Update: Oran V on Twitter provides context for some of these changes – it brings the system map into line with other maps that already used those elements.

168澳洲十开奖网: Newark International Airport Regional Rail Connections, 2023🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/newark-airport-regional-rail-2023/ https://transitmap.net/newark-airport-regional-rail-2023/#comments Fri, 12 May 2023 15:00:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=20392 Every so often, I come across a transit map that is just so unfit for purpose that all I can do is scratch my head and ponder, “Just why🔸澳洲幸运10预测?” This is one of those maps.

Produced by (or on behalf of) Newark International Airport, it purports to show regional rail services that you can connect to at the airport via its AirTrain. However, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s so poorly thought out and executed that it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s of very little assistance at all.

The 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划and most obvious problem is that everything – and I mean everything🔸澳洲幸运10预测 – is way too small. Labelling is tiny, with even smaller lozenges and bullets underneath the labels that may or may not contain the names of the different regional services and New York Subway lines: they🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re almost entirely illegible. And it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s not like the canvas has no space to spare – there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s acres of room to make labels much, much bigger and more legible.

Speaking of the canvas, it really doesn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t seem to have been used wisely. Why bother showing most of the New York Subway, 🔸澳洲开奖 a simple indication of connecting lines at Penn Station and PATH🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s WTC station would suffice? Why show the Staten Island Railway at all 🔸澳洲开奖 it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s most certainly not a direct connection? This map would be so much more effective if it just concentrated on the regional lines that it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s meant to showcase and just indicated further connecting services where they occur. Get rid of the wasted space allocated to extraneous elements and enlarge the important parts for clarity.

Then there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s the background that can🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t decide if it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a diagram or a map, wavering between simplicity and “geography” just about everywhere. And the way that the text indicating travel times cuts across the route lines 🔸澳洲开奖 there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s absolutely no need for them to do so. Simply aligning the text to the right would instantly solve this problem!

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测I really try to be more positive with my reviews these days, and look for at least one cool thing or redeeming feature to comment on for every map I post, but… I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve got nothing here. To be honest, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s kind of embarrassing that passengers are presented with this 🔸澳洲开奖 considering their transportation options to and from the airport.

I would like to share the TRAM d🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页Alacant fare zone map. It describes the different zones and stops of this tramway/narrow gauge train in the Spanish province of Alacant (Alicante). It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s been reopened recently after six years of renovation works.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

This is a fairly solid diagram that shares a lot of design language with the transit map of Valencia (reviewed in July 2022). This is perhaps understandable, as it seems that the Generalitat Valenciana has at least overseen the design of both maps. Like Valencia, the main urban area (Zone A) has been expanded in relation to the rest of the map, which is basically one corridor running up the coast to Dénia some 45 miles/70 kilometres away. The city is similarly represented more geographically, while the outer reaches are diagrammatic with evenly spaced stations from one end to the other.

Line 3 (Yellow) acts a local service for Line 1 (Red), which runs express within the urban limits of Alacant most🔸澳洲幸运10预测 of the time – the legend explains that 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划and last trains each day on Line 1 stop at all stations. This is indicated by the red line being visible through the white “shared station” symbol, which I don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t find particularly intuitive – I wonder whether a dot on Line 3 with a longer tick line crossing Line 1 would have been more effective?

I have two main issues with this otherwise competent diagram. First, the representation of the coastline is overly fussy and poorly drawn. Do we need the little bumps near Benidorm? Or the wharf (or whatever the heck that is) near Calp? And if it is somehow important to show the port/marina area in Alacant itself, then show it properly🔸澳洲幸运10预测, instead of cutting it off at the bottom of the canvas. The non-standard angles at the top of the diagram used to represent Cap Martí drive me insane.

Secondly, the legend looks like an afterthought just thrown down wherever. As with the Valencia map, the legend inexplicably gets broken up by a zone boundary 🔸澳洲开奖 there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s plenty of room to fit it all within Zone B🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s space. The typesetting is also poor – some entries have a very long 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划line (longer than an optimal reading length) and then a very short second line. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d be much better to balance those lines evenly to create a more compact, readable block of text. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m also a proponent of always starting a new line with each change of language, instead of running them one after another on a single line – it just makes it explicit that a change is taking place.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测Competent enough, but let down by some strangely unpolished design choices with the coastline and legend. Does the job.

New 168澳洲十开奖网: San Francisco Muni Metro Map with Central Subway🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/muni-metro-central-subway-2023/ https://transitmap.net/muni-metro-central-subway-2023/#comments Sat, 07 Jan 2023 15:00:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=20183 This map has actually been out for a while, but today – celebrating the full🔸澳洲幸运10预测 opening of the Central Subway – seemed like the appropriate day to post about it.

Design-wise, this is very much an evolution of previous efforts (see my review of the post-COVID resumption of service map here) and thus shares many of the same features and faults. I still don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t agree with the decision to have station labels set in the same col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划as their route lines – it looks disjointed and some colours (especially yellow, but also light blue) have poor contrast with the white background. Pick one dark col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划(black or even the N–Judah🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s dark blue) and use it for all labels throughout for a consistent look.

However, the main question here is how well the Central Subway has been integrated into the map, and the answer is… probably about as well as it could have been. Muni certainly hasn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t helped itself by giving the new interchange with Powell station a really long name – “Union Square/Market St”. This necessarily has to be set on two lines, forcing a huge gap between Powell and Montgomery along Market Street. “Yerba Buena/Moscone” isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t much better, but at least that fits fairly neatly into the space provided. But seriously, transit agencies – pick one name for y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划stations and just roll with it instead of trying to appease everyone. Announcements or signage can take care of the secondary information: “Alight here for the Moscone Center”.

While accurate to the real-world configuration, the representation of 4th & King station seems overly fussy for a simplified diagram like this. Would it just look a bit cleaner if the routes didn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t cross over each other? Another fussy detail is the weird curve that BART takes between Civic Center and 16th St/Mission, inserted purely out of the need to make room for the Church & Market station label on the J–Church line.

Overall, I feel like there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a lot of random chaotic energy in this diagram. Part of that comes from the decision to only label accessible stations, which is understandable but also makes the diagram feel half-finished somehow. The placement of labels also comes across as a bit haphazard, especially along the southern leg of the T–Third St, where the labels alternate on each side of the route. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d like to see a solution where all those labels are moved to the right of the route, which would then allow all the BART station labels to move to the right of their🔸澳洲幸运10预测 route line and so on… creating more consistency across the whole diagram.

I do find it odd that the diagram has giant route bullets at the bottom as a sort of legend, but then chooses not to use the bullets again at the end of each line. Use of bullets for route identification on the actual diagram is regarded as a best practice these days, seen on many maps worldwide. Personally, I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d find a way to move the big bullets to the bar at the top of the diagram, so I could push the boxed legend to the left and use the extra space to make the T-Third St line a bit longer to allow all those labels to be on the right as suggested above.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测Very much a logical evolution of the typical Muni Metro diagram style, though I do wish it was a little more orderly in the way it presents information. I do like the animation that Muni has made showing the way all the lines work, though!

168澳洲十开奖网: 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 Metro Rail & Busway Map, 2022🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/los-angeles-metro-k-line-2022/ https://transitmap.net/los-angeles-metro-k-line-2022/#comments Sat, 08 Oct 2022 00:20:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=20017 LA Metro opened the 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划operating segment of the K Line today, and there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a new map to go along with it! As we haven🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t reviewed this map since 2016 (🔸澳洲开奖 the Expo Line extension to Santa Monica opened!), it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s high time for a new look.

The 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划thing I noticed is how this version of the map seems to be a point-by-point correction of the perceived flaws that I noted in that 2016: the 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 River has been removed from the map, the loop of the A/Blue Line in Long Beach has been restored to a more accurate orientation, and the labels along the B/Red Line are spaced out a bit more evenly, though I think this can still be better – I feel that it can sometimes be better to space labels🔸澳洲幸运10预测 evenly along a line instead of the station dots. All of these changes are definite improvements, so I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m happy to see them made.

The gradual transition from named lines (Blue/Red/Expo, etc.) to lettered lines – A Line, B Line, E Line, etc.) continues with bullets now at the ends of route lines on the map, but with both🔸澳洲幸运10预测 names still noted in the legend. By the time the Regional Connector comes on line, I would expect that lettered line names will stand on their own.

The new K Line (note that there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s no secondary name – e.g., the “Pink Line” – for it) slots into the map nicely, with plenty of room for the future stations to be added between Westchester/Veterans and Aviation/LAX stations. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d personally like to see a thin “bus” line drawn from Aviation/LAX station to the airport to give a better indication of the LAX Shuttle service instead of the fairly indistinct icon that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s currently used.

There are a couple of minor technical errors and inconsistencies: all the labels on the western end of the C Line from Mariposa to Redondo Beach have been pushed downwards slightly so that they no longer align to the same grid as the A and J lines. This is probably intentional to give a bit more room around LAX, but I do like it 🔸澳洲开奖 elements intentionally line up across a map like this. The label for Crenshaw station sits considerably higher above the C Line than all the other labels.

Very minor pet peeves: Why is 7th St/Metro Center abbreviated to “Metro Ctr” 🔸澳洲开奖 there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s plenty of room to spell out the name in full? Similarly, the abbreviation of “Arts District” to “Arts Dist”. For me, abbreviations like this on a transit map should be kept to an absolute minimum and used only if there is no other option.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A sleek upgrade to what was already one of the better US 澳洲10开官网开奖. Looking good, LA Metro!

168澳洲十开奖网: A New Geographical Map for the NJ Transit Rail System, 2022🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/nj-transit-rail-map-2022/ https://transitmap.net/nj-transit-rail-map-2022/#comments Fri, 12 Aug 2022 15:00:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=19919 The NJ Transit rail map has basically looked the same – and has retained most of its faults – since I reviewed it back in the very early days of the blog [November 2011, 1.5 stars], so it came as a surprise 🔸澳洲开奖 I discovered that that diagram has been replaced with a new geographical map this month. NJ Transit has been down this path before, with similar maps used around 20 years ago, though this design is considerably cleaner than that very muddy execution.

AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 of the main problems with the previous diagram is that it simultaneously had to show a sprawling statewide network as well as local services like PATH, and the Hudson-Bergen light rail. Obviously, these are at very different levels of scale and detail, and the diagram struggled because of it, unsatisfactorily compressing the considerable detail around Newark/New York into a very small part of the diagram.

The solution chosen here – a statewide geographical map supplemented with local area insets where needed – isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t groundbreaking, but it is effective and a massive improvement. The cleverest part is the way the bottom third of the map gets rotated 45 degrees counter-clockwise to save massive amounts of space: the Atlantic City Line runs neatly across the bottom of the map instead of having to drop towards the southeast. The map🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s border does a lot of good work here, clearly separating the two parts of the map, while making it clear that there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s continuity between the sections at Bordentown.

The diagrammatic insets are neatly drawn with a minimum of fuss, though the colours used for some of the light rail lines could perhaps be better differentiated: it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a little hard to tell PATH🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s grey apart from the dull brown of the Hudson-Bergen light rail, for example. I also like it 🔸澳洲开奖 the background colours used in an inset are subtly different to those used on the main map, just to help set them above and apart. A leading line or arrow linking the insets to the part of the main map that they🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re magnifying would also be handy.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测One of those rare occasions where a geographical rail map is superior to a diagram. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s not perfect, but I think it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s definitely a step in the right direction.

澳洲幸运十是官网开奖吗🔸168澳洲十开奖网: New Metrovalencia Diagram, Spain, 2022🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/metrovalencia-2022/ https://transitmap.net/metrovalencia-2022/#comments Fri, 08 Jul 2022 15:00:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=19837 Submitted by Jaime, who says:

I would like to share with you the new Metrovalencia🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s network map, whose design has been updated with the opening of the new Line 10 this year. The main reason why the transit operator decided to redesign it from scratch instead of just adding the new line layout is because they wanted to start avoiding using diagonal-axis labels on it, as they think horizontal labels are more accessible for people with intellectual disability.

But there are more differences:

  • Tram services now are represented again with solid lines, as it was in the previous map before the 2015🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s redesign, ending with the differentiation from the “metro” ones. This could be because the new Line 10 is such a mix, operated with tramway units but with underground stations in the city center. But maybe this rule could have been maintained using the two-toned line for the street-runing sections and the solid line style for traffic segregated sections, for example.
  • They🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve included some spatial references, such as the curves of the subway tunnel between Àngel Guimerà and Xàtiva or Ayora and Marítim, or the Pont de Fusta loop, which before they were in a straight line.
  • As almost all the city center stations are shared by different lines, now all of them are officially transfer stations. The map also points 🔸澳洲开奖 in the same station different lines stop in different platforms (e.g. Alameda). The old transfer icon now represents intermodal stations where the users can change from subway to tramway lines or vice versa (except in Bailén/Alacant, maybe because they consider they🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re different stations?).
  • It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s drawn the future underground moving walkway which will be built to connect Xàtiva and Alacant stations as the project to extend the line some meters more with a new station for Line 10 built in Xàtiva was cancelled. Now, this connection just can be done walking on the street as the woman icon pretends to explain.
  • In this new map version, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s represented the stations where some routes can end 🔸澳洲开奖 they run as partial routes, with the line icon near its label.
  • The transit operator decided to reduce the number of fare zones from 4 to just 2 (plus the Airport fare zone), so now there are some stations that belong to both zones represented by this background color overlap.

A similar design has been created also for the TRAM of Alicante, which is run by the same transit operator, so now both cities shares the same map style (but with different typeface: Titillium for Metrovalencia and Rotis for TRAM).

I would appreciate if you could check this version and tell us y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划opinion about if all these changes and new additions have been really an improvement or just unnecessary with the previous map design [from 2015; review here – Cam] as a reference.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s some things I really like about this diagram and there are others I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m not so fond of… so let🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s start with the good!

Metrovalencia is a bit of an odd system in that it freely combines street-running trams, a full metro including subways, and commuter rail that runs far out into the surrounding countryside, all under one umbrella. So I really don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t mind that there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s no attempt made at mode differentiation here – these lines are all part of Metrovalencia, and are all treated equally. What I really do🔸澳洲幸运10预测 like is that the central Zone A is presented with a good degree of spatial accuracy, and the map then gets progressively more diagrammatic the further out it gets. This condenses those far-flung lines (especially Line 1 to the south) rather wonderfully. Presumably, the way that stops are grouped along those lines reflects the different built-up urban areas along each route – though it does perhaps just end up looking a bit haphazard. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d be interested in seeing an alternative where the stops are always evenly spaced: it might just look a little more harmonious.

The overlapping zones are drawn about as neatly as they can be, though I do think they could be a bit lighter in tone. As it stands, it seems like some of the route colours have had to be strengthened quite a lot to compete with the background – Line 1 is more of a dull gold than its previous goldenrod yellow, for example. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s also unfortunate that the dark gold outline for Zone A passes right through the middle🔸澳洲幸运10预测 of the map🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s legend!

The new interchange markers are definitely an improvement over the previous version, clearly indicating 🔸澳洲开奖 passenger movement between platforms or modes is required. The weakest interchange design is at Empalme, where Line 1 takes a 90-degree turn underneath 🔸澳洲幸运10预测the marker, which is generally regarded as bad design practice.

Finally, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s interesting to note that this diagram takes the approach of using a crossed-out wheelchair icon to indicate the one and only non-accessible station at Valencia Sud, which is fair enough.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A definite improvement in my eyes, though still not truly outstanding. By my reckoning, this is at least the third🔸澳洲幸运10预测 totally different design for the Metrovalencia diagram since 2009 (🔸澳洲开奖 I visited the city and rode the network), which is fairly rapid turnover and doesn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t really speak to a consistent design language for the network.

澳洲幸运十是官网开奖吗🔸Unofficial Future Map: Consolidated Rail Map of San Francisco by Griffin Ashburn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/san-francisco-griffin-ashburn/ https://transitmap.net/san-francisco-griffin-ashburn/#comments Mon, 10 Jan 2022 16:00:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=19442 Submitted by Griffin, who says:

Attached is a diagram/sort-of 🔸澳洲幸运10在线人工计划网 I recently made showing all the various rail services and connections in San Francisco. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve never been a fan of how Muni shows service connections on their 168澳洲十开奖网 – BART is typically included, though never Caltrain, nor BART🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s connection to the airport, which I think is a fairly important to have.

I also decided to include the F Market & Wharves street car line, which while not connected that seamlessly to the rest of the Muni “metro” system, still serves as an important line for commuters in the city. Also included is the upcoming central subway expansion on the T Third Street line, which brings the line north into downtown with new underground stops north of market street.

Finally, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s worth noting that this map depicts Muni🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s service patterns prior to all of the various COVID cuts, with all light rail lines continuing downtown under Market Street.

This was the map of any sort that I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve made, done as a challenge to myself to see if I could even do such a thing. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m pretty happy with how it turned out (or honestly more shocked I was even able to get it done).

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

Welcome to the wonderful world of transit map making, Griffin!

This is a good, solid effort that builds upon the existing Muni style to include more unified transit information for travellers, which is pretty much always a good thing. Showing BART all the way down to San Francisco International Airport is a great idea, so well done there. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d be nice to perhaps show the SamTrans “SFO” bus from the airport terminals to Milbrae (which are timed to connect with Caltrain services) just to provide a more complete picture of transit options at the airport, but that may be outside the scope of a rail diagram like this.

If there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s an area that does🔸澳洲幸运10预测 need work, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s the labelling of stations. Even though the official Muni Metro map does it, I will never🔸澳洲幸运10预测 be in fav🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划of labels that are the same col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划as the line they serve – there simply isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t enough contrast between yellow text and a white background to be easily readable, for example. The different colours used also make the map look disjointed and give visual preference to darker labels. All the labels represent a station, so they should all have the same importance in the diagram🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s hierarchy. Pick one dark hue with sufficient contrast to the background – it doesn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t have🔸澳洲幸运10预测 to be black, as the London Underground map shows – and stick with it throughout.

Similarly, I just can🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t endorse labels set all in lower-case. Just don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t. Proper capitalisation of place names aids readability, and looks so much better.

Also, work a bit on the placement of y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划labels relative to the stations they serve – be consistent with how far away they are and whether they sit above/below or alongside the station symbol. The label for the SF Zoo at the end of the L-Taraval line seems to be floating in empty space, for example.

Finally, this isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t really a comment on this map but on the whole Market Street arrangement of services, with the F streetcars running on the surface, the Muni Metro cars on the 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划underground level and BART at the bottom – all requiring some kind of transfer between them. Is this level of detail – splitting all these services up into discrete “boarding areas” joined by a connecting transfer line – necessary on a map like this, or is the detail as shown here okay? It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s something to ponder…

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划last word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A very solid 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划effort (I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve seen plenty of unified San Francisco rail maps that aren🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t as good as this), though some love could be given to the labelling to make it even better.

澳洲幸运十是官网开奖吗🔸168澳洲十开奖网: Green Line Route Map at New SLC Airport Station🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/green-line-slc-airport/ https://transitmap.net/green-line-slc-airport/#comments Wed, 27 Oct 2021 00:15:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=19325 Submitted by Mike, who says:

The construction of the new terminal at Salt Lake City International Airport necessitated constructing a new light rail station, which opened today. One interesting new thing for UTA at the station is a line map. While these have existed on board UTA🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s TRAX light rail and FrontRunner commuter rail trains for a while, this is the 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划time they have used this kind of map at a station. I do feel that this kind of map is useful in this context. However, I feel the map is lacking somewhat. 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划off, it might not be obvious to riders new to the system that the icons represent transfer points to other UTA rail services, so a legend might be helpful. Another big complaint is that UTA continues to leave off any information about bus services, which would be helpful in encouraging riders to use connecting buses. On the other hand, the one really helpful thing that this line map does include is mentioning that the Green Line does go downtown, which is probably the most sought after piece of information for people arriving at the airport and looking to ride the train downtown.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

Thanks for the photo, Mike! It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s good to see that UTA is moving in the right direction 🔸澳洲开奖 it comes to passenger information – particularly at the airport, which may be people🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划introduction to the city🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s light rail system.

This strip map does the job, but still somehow feels a bit loose and incomplete compared to the best examples from around the world – Berlin🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s being a prime example. Part of it is the typeface, which I believe is Hoefler&Co.🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s Whitney. While it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a fine typeface that is designed to be used for wayfinding purposes, I find its use here a bit flat and underwhelming. At 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划glance, it comes across looking more like Microsoft🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s Calibri, which is almost never the desired result. Some quick fixes: move all the labels to the left a bit (to match the gap to the icons on the left of the route line), track all the letters out a bit for readability and increase the font size as much as possible.

I think the icons to the left of the line are generally fine and easily understood. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s explained at the top of the map that this light rail line is the “Green Line”, so I don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t think it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s too much of a stretch to assume that the “Blue Line” and “Red Line” – which also share a similar icon – are also light rail. The “S-Line” and “FrontRunner” are a bit more problematic as they🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re not explained quite as conveniently. Adding “Commuter Rail” underneath the FrontRunner label solves that problem – maybe it needs to also be “S-Line Streetcar”? I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d try to avoid adding a legend to a simple strip map like this as it just increases the amount of information that needs to be parsed by a reader.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测Has all the elements of a fine strip map, but somehow manages to be less than the sum of its parts. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s still perfectly usable, but not quite 🔸澳洲幸运10预测as good as it could be.

I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve always thought that San Diego🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s “Trolley” map to be pretty bad, with various clashing angles, line icons and brand names (ugh) that don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t add anything (“Sycuan” is a casino, and the Blue LIne is named UC San Diego because they🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re a sponsor, not because the line extension will go there). Only ONE landmark is noted, the baseball park downtown. The only geographical feature indicated is the international border, which isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t necessarily bad, but if they🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re going to note the border, they could also indicate that from San Ysidro station it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a short walk to Mexico. On the other hand, two stations have airport indicators, yet the airport is far from both of them, and there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s no airport shuttle as such. All in all, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s just a mess of a map.

Anyway, I was hoping that the MTS would take the opportunity to rethink the map 🔸澳洲开奖 they open the major extension of the Blue Line north to UC San Diego and “UTC”, which is a major center of offices and housing. I just ran across a new map on the MTS website [and] I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d love to hear y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划comments! To me, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s moderately better than the old one, but not great, and I think a design professional (which I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m not) could improve it immensely. It really bugs me that the Orange Line takes a short right angle while all other turns are presented as curves… I also think the broad Orange Line curve at City College is distracting, but maybe that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s unavoidable? What bothers me most is the Orange Line angle in Lemon Grove that does not reflect the angle of the “Euclid Avenue” label that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s next to it. Ouch!

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

This one🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s an interesting beast, Robert – there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s some things I like more than in the old version (left), and some that I don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t. It probably comes out as being better in the long run, but only just🔸澳洲幸运10预测. Overall, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s certainly cleaner and easier to read, with the angled labels being slightly less neck-breaking. The placement of Courthouse station is much better now, without the overwrought way it was brought inside the Silver Line loop previously. An understated but very welcome change is the way that the line name icons have all lost their black outlines (which made them look a bit childish) and now have their names set in the same col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划instead of black. It unifies the information and links the names directly to the route lines themselves – so much better!

However, I do miss the unique angles of the previous map, which were very distinctive and perhaps even a little more representative of the actual trajectories of the lines in real life (not always important in a diagram, but still nice to have if possible!). It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s especially noticeable with the downtown loop, which had a very distinctive curved section in its southwestern quadrant, but is now just a regular ol🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 rectangle.

Speaking of the loop, the Silver Line – a heritage trolley, not full light rail – is still a bit problematic. It only runs in a clockwise loop because the PCC streetcars on the line are only single-ended, and it only runs on weekends – neither of which are indicated on the map. It also doesn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t get any station dots, which perhaps indicates that it was included somewhat grudgingly on the diagram. A directional arrow or two might fix the 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划problem; and a more comprehensive map legend the second.

The sharp right-angle turn that the Orange Line takes at 12th & Imperial is perhaps a little unfortunate, but seemingly unavoidable if the Green and Orange lines are to create a unified horizontal line across the diagram. There are potential solutions like staggering the station dots at 12th & Imperial, but something like that might come across as over-designed on a simple diagram like this one.

Interestingly, because the rest of the diagram has become strictly rectilinear, the one remaining angled section along the Orange Line looks a bit out of place – I might have just straightened it out to simply form a standard 90-degree angle. The error that Robert points out above – that the angled station labels don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t match the angle of this section of line is impossible to unsee once you🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve noticed it, unfortunately.

Finally, I quite like the hatched treatment of the future extension of the Blue Line – it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s got a very “Washington, DC Metro Map” feel to it, which I think the designers were definitely trying to evoke.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 Better, but at the cost of an unique and distinctive map design.
