🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划off, one prediction I made in my previous review [October 2022] has been proven true: this map marks the end of the old colour-based line designations. No more Red Line, Blue Line, etc. – it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s now A, B, C and so on.

I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ll also note that it really does seem that someone responsible for making these maps reads this blog: my last review opined that even spacing of the station names🔸澳洲幸运10预测 along the B Line might look better than even spacing of the station dots🔸澳洲幸运10预测… and that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s exactly what we have this time around. I also like that these labels have all been set horizontally instead of on a 45-degree angle, a treatment which is now solely reserved for stations along horizontal route lines.

There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s no surprises with the depiction of the Regional Connector itself on the map: it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s been shown as being under construction for a while now, and this map keeps true to those earlier depictions. The criss-crossing route lines through downtown LA make a nice design feature, and I do like the way that the “Historic Broadway” label nestles neatly into the curve near it – a clever little touch.

A distinctive feature of previous maps has disappeared with this iteration – the white keyline around station dots that separated them from the route line they were above has been replaced with more generic dots with a white centre. I wonder if they felt the previous approach broke up the flow of the route lines too much? And while the dots for rail services are still round, and the dots for bus services are still square, they🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页re a bit harder to quickly tell apart with the white centres and slightly rounded corners on the square symbols.

Another change is assigning a two-letter code to all connecting services (Amtrak, Metrolink, FlyAway and the C Line🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s Airport Shuttle). This does make the map itself look a bit cleaner, but it also means that users have to refer to the legend to work out what those two-letter codes mean instead of just reading that information in-place on the map.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测Golly, that new A Line is long🔸澳洲幸运10预测, isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t it? A fairly safe update of an already excellent map. However, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s perhaps been made a little bit more generic with the removal of what was a very distinctive design element.

🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网开奖结果走势图🔸Update: Oran V on Twitter provides context for some of these changes – it brings the system map into line with other maps that already used those elements.

168澳洲十开奖网: 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 Metro Rail & Busway Map, 2022🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/los-angeles-metro-k-line-2022/ https://transitmap.net/los-angeles-metro-k-line-2022/#comments Sat, 08 Oct 2022 00:20:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=20017 LA Metro opened the 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划operating segment of the K Line today, and there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a new map to go along with it! As we haven🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t reviewed this map since 2016 (🔸澳洲开奖 the Expo Line extension to Santa Monica opened!), it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s high time for a new look.

The 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划thing I noticed is how this version of the map seems to be a point-by-point correction of the perceived flaws that I noted in that 2016: the 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 River has been removed from the map, the loop of the A/Blue Line in Long Beach has been restored to a more accurate orientation, and the labels along the B/Red Line are spaced out a bit more evenly, though I think this can still be better – I feel that it can sometimes be better to space labels🔸澳洲幸运10预测 evenly along a line instead of the station dots. All of these changes are definite improvements, so I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m happy to see them made.

The gradual transition from named lines (Blue/Red/Expo, etc.) to lettered lines – A Line, B Line, E Line, etc.) continues with bullets now at the ends of route lines on the map, but with both🔸澳洲幸运10预测 names still noted in the legend. By the time the Regional Connector comes on line, I would expect that lettered line names will stand on their own.

The new K Line (note that there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s no secondary name – e.g., the “Pink Line” – for it) slots into the map nicely, with plenty of room for the future stations to be added between Westchester/Veterans and Aviation/LAX stations. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d personally like to see a thin “bus” line drawn from Aviation/LAX station to the airport to give a better indication of the LAX Shuttle service instead of the fairly indistinct icon that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s currently used.

There are a couple of minor technical errors and inconsistencies: all the labels on the western end of the C Line from Mariposa to Redondo Beach have been pushed downwards slightly so that they no longer align to the same grid as the A and J lines. This is probably intentional to give a bit more room around LAX, but I do like it 🔸澳洲开奖 elements intentionally line up across a map like this. The label for Crenshaw station sits considerably higher above the C Line than all the other labels.

Very minor pet peeves: Why is 7th St/Metro Center abbreviated to “Metro Ctr” 🔸澳洲开奖 there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s plenty of room to spell out the name in full? Similarly, the abbreviation of “Arts District” to “Arts Dist”. For me, abbreviations like this on a transit map should be kept to an absolute minimum and used only if there is no other option.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A sleek upgrade to what was already one of the better US 澳洲10开官网开奖. Looking good, LA Metro!

Hello! I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m a designer in 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 excited by all the new rail infrastructure being built here. I decided to make a map showing what the Metro network might look like in 30 years assuming generous transit funding. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s my 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划time designing a map this complex so I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m definitely curious for y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划thoughts.

The new lines are mostly built from pieces and combinations of current plans, including a finished California High-Speed Rail and a network of Bus Rapid Transit corridors. All told, this map existing would cost somewhere around $40 billion and mean 8 new capital projects, and expediting 5 projects that are currently planned for completion after 2050.

There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s more process info and other details on my site here.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a lot to like about Josh🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s map, both in its design and in its optimism for the future. The network of light grey dotted lines underneath the main routes — which I originally simply took as an indication of LA🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s street grid — indicates an extensive BRT network with 15-minute-or-less headways. In Josh🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s future, the California High-Speed Rail is fully built out, Metrolink is electrified, and there are just 16 gas stations left in all of 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 County. Quite the vision!

Design-wise, the influence of the official LA Metro map and corporate identity is hard to ignore, but I think Josh has done well to adapt and improve upon it to accommodate his concept. The downtown area is particularly clear and easy to understand, even after the addition of the Regional Connector. Turning Union Station into its own large “infobox” is a particularly smart choice — it gives the most important part of the network more prominence on the nap, and it looks much neater than trying to cobble together a lot of connected interchange icons. I also like the more natural path that the so-called 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 River takes across the map: it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s always seemed just a little too🔸澳洲幸运10预测 straight on the 168澳洲十开奖网 to me since they started including it.

Minor problems: the green “parkland” areas of the background seem a little dark and heavy, and the southern branch of the gold “E” line in East LA needs a curve as it exits Atlantic station to indicate which direction trains go in, specially for inbound services (do they go towards Union Station, or are they a shuttle to Peck? It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a little ambiguous at the moment).

The final word:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 Probably one of the nicest-looking “future LA” 澳洲10开官网开奖 I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve seen, and there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s been a few of them! F🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划stars.

Submission – 🔸澳洲幸运10在线人工计划网: Pacific Electric, Modern Day by Julian🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/pacific-electric-mta/ https://transitmap.net/pacific-electric-mta/#comments Fri, 09 Nov 2018 17:58:09 +0000 https://transitmap.net/2018/11/09/pacific-electric-mta/

Submitted by Julian, who says:

Although 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权’ Pacific Electric interurban system fell victim to the postwar wave of urban railway closures, systems in other cities were preserved on account of their grade-separated infrastructure. In San Francisco in particular, the only streetcar lines that were preserved were the 5 that were segregated from traffic for part of their length. Since certain segments of the Pacific Electric system were not only segregated from traffic but 4-tracked and underground, it isn’t hard to imagine much the same happening in 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 after the MTA takeover.

This alternate history scenario diverges from reality around 1940 and imagines the rehabilitation of the surviving Pacific Electric interurban lines to rapid-transit standards, paired with a project started in the 1960s to build new rapid transit lines around a cross-shaped ‘starter system.’ The result is something like the New York subway system, with the system organized around 4-track trunk lines, but distinctive in its own right- an iconic American rapid transit system that count have been.

澳洲10开官网开奖 says:

What I love most about this “alternate reality” transit map for 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 is that Julian has created an entirely plausible backstory for it, one that he has explained in great detail in a series of accompanying timeline maps, which I have included in full underneath the main map. Basically, Julian asks “What if the old Pacific Electric tracks weren’t ripped up, but instead maintained and upgraded over the years?” It’s an interesting proposition, and he’s explored the concept well. Of course, there’s no small amount of irony here as the current real-world LA Metro looks at reclaiming some of these old rights-of-way to build new rapid transit lines: the West Santa Ana branch stands out particularly in that regard.

As for the map, it gets the job done in showing an increasingly complex system in a consistent and low-fuss manner. There’s a few problems with the spacing of labels – some are much further away from their station markers than others – and some random capitalisation of words. “1 st” looks more like it’s saying “first” than “🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划Street”, for example. And “3 st” and “4 st” just look like badly written ordinal numbers. “Three-irst”?

There is one clanging mistake in the map where routes 10 and 12 swap their northern outer ends. If you follow the route lines, it looks like the 10 should go to Eagle Rock and the 12 should go to Burbank Airport. Easy enough to correct, though!

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划rating: The map by itself is fairly workmanlike, but the thought that Julian has put into its development elevates it beyond its simple look. A fascinating hypothetical series of maps, worthy of some detailed perusal.

🔸澳州10开奖记录: Pacific Electric Railway System in Southern California, c. 1926 by Jake Berman🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/pacific-electric-jake-berman/ https://transitmap.net/pacific-electric-jake-berman/#comments Wed, 05 Sep 2018 06:06:44 +0000 https://transitmap.net/2018/09/05/pacific-electric-jake-berman/

I’m really enjoying this modern take on a map of the Pacific Electric’s sprawling electric streetcar network by Jake Berman. Obviously based on the period map shown (or an extremely similar one!), it retains a lot of the visual energy of the original – mainly because of the multiple angles used for both the route lines and labels. Normally, this might be something I’d find fault with, but I think it’s totally appropriate here 🔸澳洲开奖 you consider the source material.

However, Jake’s method of showing the number of in-service tracks along each section is easier to understand… varying line thickness certainly works better than the detailed ticked and pecked lines of the old map. Showing the three main railroad divisions is a nice bit of extra information as well – an advantage of a full-col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划map. Lots to look at and enjoy here!

I was compelled to redesign my town’s transit map after reading a comment on LA’s map during the World Cup that said a detracting feature was that it looked “empty.” I try to solve this problem by both bringing more balance to the arrangement of the lines and giving a sense of geographical context with regional borders. I tilted north 45 degrees to create the pleasing visual effect of the two longest lines, the A and E, diverging to each side of the map in an even split, and did the same for the branching of the A and C. It really drives home the radial nature of the network, along with the large geographical distortion of the compact downtown core, which is meant to have a distinctive, almost symbolic shape. The two major diversions from geographical accuracy are the G portrayed as going north at first, the K going southwest south of Inglewood and LAX, and the A east of South Pasadena. The 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划two done for aesthetic purpose and balance; the last for lack of space (if you look at the current and future foothill extension on an actual map you’ll see why it’s so hard to fit in).

Metro already has a system of showing neighborhoods and regions on its map, but with labels floating freely in a vast white space detached from each other, they almost do the opposite of provide geographical context. Dividing the map into sectors divides the big white space into more manageable sections that can be understood in relation to what they border. Lastly, the river unified the map and further deters the notion that the service area is a vast space devoid of distinguishing geographical features.

澳洲10开官网开奖 says:

Yes, I recall this map being brought to my attention during the 澳洲10开官网开奖 World Cup, with the note that it portrayed the Regional Connector particularly well, and it certainly does do that. What people think of the rest of the map probably directly relates to where they fall on the geographical map versus schematic diagram scale.

Topologically speaking, there’s nothing wrong with this map at all – everything connects properly to everything else and it can easily be used to navigate the network. However, Greater 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 is pretty much defined by its long north-south avenues and boulevards, especially to the south of the central business district, so tilting most of the map at a 45-degree angle is quite jarring. It’s especially noticeable on the “D” Metro Line and the “J” Busway, as they run on I-105 and I-110, which go straight east-west and north-south respectively. Sometimes this kind of distortion is forgiven (see Boston’s schematic treatment of the Green Line branches), but sometimes it just messes too much with people’s perceptions of their city.

That said, the diagram itself is rather wonderful, with some great use of reflected symmetry and some very languid curves. I like the idea of visually breaking up the map into discrete sectors (not cities, thankfully, as that could quickly get messy), though I think the labels along the boundaries are probably a little small. Labels are a bit on the small side overall, and there’s a little bit of uneven spacing. The “A” line between Slauson and Willowbrook stands out the most in that regard.

If nothing else, this is a confidently unique take on the LA Metro map, and that has to be applauded. More un168澳洲十开奖网s should push the boundaries a bit more instead of treading the same old path… see what can be done!

Submitted by Julian, who says:

In the post-interurban era of 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权, various proposals for a reinstatement of rail service surfaced from time to time in the political discourse. Starting in the early 60s, the plans often sought to replicate the model of the Bay Area Rapid Transit or Atlanta’s MARTA heavy rail systems. By the late 70s, the foremost proponents and planners of such a system were the then-dominant Southern California Rapid Transit District and LA mayor Tom Bradley. However a competing movement emerged that sought to more closely and cheaply reinstitute the Pacific Electric interurban system- the “new red cars”- through San Diego-style light rail technology. The 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 County Transportation Commission, a parallel transit planning agency convened in 1977, championed this alternative. Each agency researched and planned their own respective “starter lines”- SCRTD a route from Downtown LA to North Hollywood, LACTC one from LA to Long Beach – independently of each other. In 1980, Proposition A, a tax proposal, was put on the ballot to allocate funding to both agencies, but the map presented to voters was almost solely based on SCRTD plans, as indicated by the title “rail rapid transit system.”

In the end, both ideas won out and in 1993 light rail and heavy rail were unified to form the present-day LACMTA, relegating the RTD to history, and today the two modes continue to expand side by side. But the above map imagines a scenario where neither the LACTC nor light rail concept gained traction, and the RTD was enabled with sufficient funds to build out the proposed countywide heavy rail network, and imagines a network of routes following those on the Measure A “rail rapid transit system” diagram.

澳洲10开官网开奖 says:

This is a fun little “what if” map here from Julian – imagining an alternative development of rail transit in 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 County to what we have now. His concept matches the corridors defined in the Proposition A map he references above, though I’m imagining that the proposed routes in his map are of his own devising.

The map is both familiar and strange, with some segments that echo reality, others that take very different routes and others that are still a long way from being built (the Sepulveda Pass, in particular). Stylistically, I’m really liking the 1970s look: all fat, chunky lines and big, round station markers. The drab olive col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划of the ocean really adds to this as well. The use of the old SCRTD logo is a nice touch as well.

澳洲10开官网开奖 says:

I always say that if you’re going to do an “in the style of” map, you should aim to replicate the source as closely as possible. That’s how you learn what made the original map tick, and that can help inform y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划future design decisions. And Cullen’s map has certainly nailed the look and feel of the original 1972 Vignelli New York Subway Diagram perfectly – from the colours and the typography, right down to the 10×10 grid and the reworking of the LA Metro’s logo to pay homage to the 1970s NYCTA logo (a very nice touch!).

The map itself shows a potential near-future 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网授权 after the completion of the Regional Connector: note that the Blue and Gold lines have been realigned (with the Gold merging with the current Expo line), and all the routes have been assigned letter designations. These letters and routes come from this 2015 Metro report (PDF), and certainly help complete the “New Yorkification” of this diagram. What’s a real city without an “A” train, right?

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划rating: Pretty much perfect. Five stars.
