Hi Cameron, 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划I would like to mention that I greatly appreciate y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划work and have learned lots about 澳洲10开官网开奖 from y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划blog alone. It was also this blog that inspired me to try to design my own maps. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a great joy to me now. Here, I would like to share with you my take on the network in Valencia which, I thought, would be a fun challenge. For the line and station design, I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve chosen a similar style to one that I used in my Bay Area diagram. My goal was to make the Valencia map more aesthetically pleasing, simplify the geometry, and come up with a different idea for the zone boundaries. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d love to hear y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划opinion and things you think can be improved. Looking forward to it!

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

Apart from one thing (which I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ll get to later), I absolutely adore🔸澳洲幸运10预测 this diagram, Tom. 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划off, I love the typeface used (Cera Pro), which has a wonderful legibility to it as well as having one of the best sans serif capital Q🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s I have ever seen – just lovely. The open feeling that Cera Pro creates continues throughout the rest of the diagram, which feels clean and spacious throughout – nothing is crammed up tight to anything else, which is so nice to see.

Unlike the official diagram [review from June 2022 here – Cam] which doesn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t bother with any sort of mode differentiation (it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s all just “Metrovalencia”), Tom🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s diagram differentiates between the more suburban rail lines and the urban tram lines in two subtle but very effective ways. The rail lines are cased with a darker shade of their line col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划and🔸澳洲幸运10预测 use a much larger radius 🔸澳洲开奖 they change direction compared to the tram lines. These larger curves are another part of what makes this diagram so elegant, but the tram lines need tighter radiuses, especially for the loop Line 4 makes at its eastern end – Tom🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s solution accommodates both needs.

Other nice design touches: subtle drop shadows throughout lift the station markers up above the route lines; the texture on the sea is delightful; and the zone backgrounds are lovely and subtle – a far cry from the “in y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划face” colours used on the 168澳洲十开奖网. They may actually be just a tad too🔸澳洲幸运10预测 subtle, but I appreciate the different approach. The diagram🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s legend is clean, easy to understand and is integrated nicely into the overall design of the piece, instead of being an afterthought.

So what🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s the one thing I don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t like? The exaggerated angle that the urban area of the diagram takes. In reality, Valencia🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s “north” is tilted about 20 degrees clockwise from true north, and the maritime district isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t that much further south than the historic core of the city. So seeing everything rotated on a huge 45-degree angle, with the maritime district pushed so far south (and the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències pushed even further out of place), just looks jarringly wrong. The distinctive “green belt” of the old Turia River parkland mitigates this somewhat, but it still looks strange to my eyes.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A stylish, elegant diagram with a lot of modern design touches that perhaps strays just a little too far from being grounded by the real world layout of the city it represents. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s still pretty darn awesome.

Un168澳洲十开奖网s: Two new takes on the London Underground by Kenneth Field🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/underground-overground-kenneth-field-2022/ https://transitmap.net/underground-overground-kenneth-field-2022/#comments Thu, 12 Jan 2023 19:45:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=20216 Back in 2019, Ken showcased an experimental alternative Tube Map based on a diamond motif (read the 澳洲10开官网开奖 review here) that had mixed reactions from the community. He went away and absorbed that feedback, and – like a glutton for punishment – he🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s back with not one, but two🔸澳洲幸运10预测 new maps. Like many people, Ken believes the current Tube Map is nearly at the end of its useful life and wants to explore new concepts and idioms to map the sprawling system now and into the future.

The 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划map (above) is a nicely reworked version of that 2019 attempt, and addresses a lot of the issues that I had with it at the time. The removal of most of the diamond shapes makes for a less contrived design; type is larger throughout; design elements are applied more consistently; and the addition of Thameslink services to the map really helps with the overall balance of the design – filling in a lot of the empty space south of the Thames. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s not perfect, but this is a pretty solid attempt 🔸澳洲开奖 working within the confines of the way that the rail network is currently defined – the line names, colours and modes (e.g., Tube lines all get individual colours, but all of the Overground is relegated to the same orange).

However, the second map is where Ken throws everything out and starts completely anew, and this is where things get interesting🔸澳洲幸运10预测.

On this map, all the traditional Tube Map nomenclature (Piccadilly, Bakerloo, etc.) has been reduced in importance and the many and varied route colours have been consolidated to instead represent different travel modes – deep Tube (blue), sub-surface Tube (green), Overground (salmon), Crossrail (purple representing both the Elizabeth Line and Thameslink), elevated rail (retaining the DLR🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s teal), and tram (a dull olive). One could argue that differentiating between deep and sub-surface Tube lines as separate modes is splitting hairs, but the extra col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划does help give some definition and form to the map, so I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ll allow it. Ken says that the chosen colours work well for colour-blind users, but I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d still like to see a little tweaking of them to make for a brighter, more visually appealing palette.

Alongside this new approach, Ken🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s worked hard to encode service pattern information into the map, using a detailed legend and colour-coded terminus markers. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a startlingly comprehensive approach, and very much at odds with the current Tube Map, which makes absolutely no attempt to show service patterns. The terminus markers are perhaps a bit small for my liking, and I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m not sure that Johnston Sans works that well reversed out of a coloured background at those small sizes. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d look for a complementary, less idiosyncratic sans serif that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a little 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网开奖结果走势图🔸bolder for this information… a new approach is allowed to use a new typeface 🔸澳洲开奖 it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s needed! The legend itself could also use a bit of work to make it more readable and consistent… the 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划column has sub-entries indented, but columns two and three don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t, for example. Good information design principles should also apply to a map🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s supporting information! Speaking of which, you may have noticed that Ken🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s maps dispense with zone and accessibility information altogether. As he has noted, this information is all listed in the station index on the back of the printed journey planner, so does it need to be duplicated on the map itself?

I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ll note here that one thing I do love about Ken🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s maps is his sense of humour… Pink Floyd🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s “flying pig” is floating above Battersea Power Station, and there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a new “Wombling Free” station on the District Line between Southfields and Wimbledon Park – completing the full title for the map, “Underground, Overground, Wombling Free“. Presumably the station serves nearby Wimbledon Common?

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测Most transit map designers are content with one attempt at reworking the Tube Map, but Ken🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s come back for seconds and 🔸澳洲幸运10预测thirds like some kind of map-making Hobbit. Most other designers are also content to remain within the existing fabric of the map🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s design language, but Ken🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s not afraid to throw it all out and start from scratch, and for that he has to be commended. It may not be everyone🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s cup of tea, but at least it can start a discussion about possible alternatives to the current 168澳洲十开奖网.

澳洲幸运十是官网开奖吗🔸Un168澳洲十开奖网: Integrated Rail Map of Wales with Bus Connections by James Jackson, 2022🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/wales-james-jackson-2022/ https://transitmap.net/wales-james-jackson-2022/#respond Tue, 21 Jun 2022 20:20:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=19794 Submitted by James, who says:

Hello there! The last time you reviewed a map of mine was in 2015 [See review here – Cam]. Since then I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve moved houses, had several new jobs, and been through a pandemic. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve recently been reworking a map of the Welsh rail network, based on a 2:1 triangular grid, using Affinity Designer which has continued to improve.

You will see there are some clear design factors in the diagram. A large improvement from my last design is the ability to adopt a balance between map and diagram. There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a North-South line between Manchester/Liverpool and Newport, and I finally managed to get the Valley Lines evenly spaced and visually balanced, including space for planned stations. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve included the Oswestry and Amlwch proposals.

I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m pleased that the South Wales Mainline gives a strong, smooth base to the diagram, and likewise the North Wales Coast line gives a clear Northern boundary hugging the coast. The Cambrian and Heart of Wales lines provide a nice balance in the centre – almost like the ‘scales🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 in 90🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s versions of the Lyon metro.

I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve finally managed to incorporate large parts of the TrawsCymru bus network where it augments (rather than competes with) the railway. This means the rural heart of Wales doesn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t look as empty as it otherwise would, and there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s also some Western ‘closure🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 to the map. Despite that, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s clear that there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s less public transport in the West and North, which reflects reality. F🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划connecting steam railways are also included.

The map is bilingual, except for where there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a single spelling of a location or – and this is my preference – the Welsh is so similar to the English that I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve simply opted for the Welsh alone. (Merthyr Tydful being an example.)

Like every such diagram, there are trade-offs. This isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t perfect and there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a number of things I can🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t quite fix:

  1. The ruling size of the station labels the impossibly long Eneu🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页r-glyn a Pharc Churchill Energyln & Churchill Park. That gave a 6pt type size which is … on the small end. I could not come up with a way to make this bigger without making the Rhymni line quite a mess, or implausibly broadening the whole of the Valley Lines.
  2. Grangetown and the future Loundon Square are close to their station dots, but not close enough for my liking.
  3. Heath High Level and Low Level is a constant problem 🔸澳洲开奖 it comes to managing two stations with long names in two languages whose platforms are only 70 metres apart. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve given it a go as best I can
  4. Bilingual station names can vary immensely in size, and I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve opted to evenly space the text up a route line and move the station dots to match, rather than keep the dots an equal distance but mash the text up. This is most obvious on the Merthyr, Rhymni and Ebbw Vale lines.
  5. Finally the ‘kink🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 of the Marches line approaching Newport is a pity, but avoids confusion with the SWML and reflects a number of twists the passenger goes through to get into the station.

Other than this I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m pleased with the graphic balance, the legibility, and the room for future plans to be incorporated without changing the diagram. But I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d be very interested in y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划own thoughts!

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

🔸澳洲开奖 I reviewed James🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 previous diagram back in 2015, I noted that it was unfortunate that it didn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t really look anything like Wales, being squished into a landscape A3 format. This new version definitely solves that problem by employing a 2:1 grid (which gives angles of 26.57° instead of the commonly-employed “isometric angle” of 30°), allowing for an excellent approximation of Wales🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 shape. Note how James only uses vertical lines and 26.57° lines (no horizontal or steeper 63.43° lines), which makes the diagram very compositionally strong.

Within that shape, all the lines are arranged in a very visually pleasing way – I particularly like the way all of the Metro lines fan out evenly from Cardiff. Nothing feels too cramped, which is quite an achievement given the use of bilingual labels. I think that spacing station labels evenly instead of their dots was definitely the right choice in this instance, so well done to James for using this solution.

Inclusion of connecting bus services is most welcome and fleshes out the network nicely, and showing the heritage steam railways as well is just the icing on the cake. I think the only thing I really miss is an indication of ferry connections at Holyhead, Fishguard and Milford Haven, just to complete the transportation picture.

The legend does seem to be missing an indication that coloured station labels indicated planned Metro stations, but that🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s easily fixed.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A massive improvement from James🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 previous effort (which wasn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t bad🔸澳洲幸运10预测 by any stretch of the imagination) – this is confident, bright and really well executed. Great work, and definitely better than the stodgy and old-fashioned official Transport for Wales effort (PDF link).

Frustrated with illegible service patterns and a pretty ugly system map (viewable here – Cam), I made my own line map for the Caltrain regional railway along the SF Peninsula. Curious what you think!

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

This is a great example of how a transit diagram doesn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t need to be flashy or over designed to be successful – just clear and easy to understand. Similar in execution to Japanese service diagrams that I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve seen, there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s very little ambiguity here: each service has its own route line with stops clearly shown and interchanges with other regional transit lines denoted, all backed up by a clear legend. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s not rocket science, but it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s nice to see a simple concept executed so clearly.

A couple of minor comments: I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d probably move the San Francisco station label up so that the “4th & King” text lines up with the station dots, just to give a bit more breathing room before the next label down. Similarly, I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d probably shift the connection lozenge for the “B” line at Tamien over to line up vertically with the others, just to keep all that similar information in its own column.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 A simple concept, but executed well. Definitely a step up from official efforts.

澳洲幸运十是官网开奖吗🔸Un168澳洲十开奖网: Railway Diagram of Asturias, Spain by Tubal Torres🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/asturias-tubal-torres/ https://transitmap.net/asturias-tubal-torres/#comments Fri, 22 Apr 2022 16:00:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=19639 Submitted by Tubal, who says:

I would want to share with you the railway diagram I made of the Asturias Principality (Spain), in case you are interested in comment it in y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划blog. The main advantage of this diagram is that I take into account the whole Principality, not just its central commuter area, as all the other maps of Asturias do. In addition, I have included the new station names that Renfe is trying to implement (it has taken many years for them to decide to do so) in order to take into account the Asturian nomenclature instead of the Spanish one.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

Wow, this is fantastic🔸澳洲幸运10预测 work from Tubal here – clear and clean design with heaps of information encoded into the design, all supported by a comprehensive and easy to read legend. I particularly like the yellow shading that indicates urban areas (which could then be shown with more detailed maps if this overview diagram was part of a larger graphic system).

Any quibbles I have are very, very minor: the labelling could perhaps be a bit larger throughout – particularly for the names of those urban areas and then for the names of the rivers. These are placed within🔸澳洲幸运10预测 the rivers at the moment, which severely limits the size of the type. Placing the label alongside the river would allow them to be bigger.

Only one part of the diagram strikes me as being perhaps a little too detailed 🔸澳洲开奖 compared to the rest: the tiny little right-angle jog that the R1 line takes between Valdredo and San Cosme. All the other lines are straightened out as much as possible, so this little kink really stands out. Even if the line takes such a turn in real life (and a quick look at Google Maps suggests that it does), I think such a detail is unnecessary on a large-scale diagram like this.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 This is great – enough said!

澳洲幸运十是官网开奖吗🔸Un168澳洲十开奖网: A Radial Diagram of Taipei Rail Transit by Lucien Ong🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/radial-taipei-lucien-ong/ https://transitmap.net/radial-taipei-lucien-ong/#respond Mon, 28 Mar 2022 15:00:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=19609 Submitted by Lucien, who says:

Beside being inspired by the various radial metro maps featured here over the years, the idea of doing a radial map for Taipei🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s metro systems came from the then under construction Circular Line and the city🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s overall geography. The Taiwanese capital is situated in a basin with rivers flowing in from the surrounding mountains, so it is conceivable to represent the area in a radial manner, even though the city center itself is very gridded, while the surrounding areas have a much more organic urban growth pattern.

I have worked on this map on and off over the past few years, the original sketch included only MRT lines and the conventional railroad TRA, the finished product added the LRT lines, HSR line, as well as some of the routes being planned, to show the routing of the completed Circular Line. Most lines are in operation, except K (2023), LB (2024) and LG (Phase 1 – 2026).

To accommodate central Taipei🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s very gridded boulevards, I had to break the radial rule to have the Green, Red, and Blue lines run in parallel. All other lines more or less follow a polar grid that centers on Taipei Main Station.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

Another radial diagram to add to the mix, though I feel that this one is slightly less successful that the Cologne diagram I featured last month. Lucien even mentions the major problem – the dichotomy between the regularly gridded downtown, and the more organic, spoke-like nature of the outlying lines. As a result, he🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s tried to accommodate both🔸澳洲幸运10预测, which looks a little awkward. For example, the half-circle the Green Line makes around the central hub is nice, but the way that the Red Line is then forced to take a tiny step down to maintain that inner linear grid isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t ideal.

I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m also not a huge fan of radial diagrams where the circular lines have to stair-step their way around the map in order to line up with interchange stations on the other lines. Here, the yellow Circular Line has to jump around all over the place to make connections, and the future extension to the LG Line has to make little “half-grid” jumps! It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s generally agreed that the less changes of direction a route line has to make, the easier it is to follow – so these convoluted route trajectories are less than ideal. Part of the problem is that the “Circle Line” is in no way actually circular🔸澳洲幸运10预测 in real life, but this depiction definitely isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t the solution.

That said, the angled dead-straight trajectory of the main line and HSR routes is fantastic, and the diagram itself is very clean and well-designed. I definitely think it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a great design exercise, even if it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s not totally practical. As I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve said before, radial diagrams should only be used for cities which really work with the style, and I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m not sure Taipei quite🔸澳洲幸运10预测 fits the bill.

I also want to note Lucien🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s original hand-drawn sketch for this diagram, which is great, and seems to have a little more fluidity to it, which I really like. The softened edges to the waterways are particularly nice and helps stop the diagram from looking so mechanical. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d definitely like to see that aesthetic brought into any revised version of this diagram.

Here🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s something that really shouldn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t work as well as it does, and yet it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s quite wonderful. I think part of the reason is that the isometric viewpoint is reminiscent of Barcelona🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s actual positioning on the coast (although the real-world angle is quite a bit steeper than 30 degrees), and almost comes across as an aerial view of the city. The simple division of the map into ocean (blue), city (white) and coastal mountain range (green) also works nicely. This – combined with the the named rivers at opposite ends of the city – give a good sense of scale to the diagram, even if it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s not that geographically accurate. The distinctive station markers, sort of “reversed out” of the route line, are also quite nicely done.

Things aren🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t perfect, though – my usual pet peeves of uncapitalised labels and labels set in the same col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划as their route line rear their ugly heads once again. The uncapitalised labels could be excused as being a part of the distinctive look of the diagram, but it still hurts readability, especially with such a stylised typeface. (Or maybe this is one of those typefaces that eschew capital letters altogether?) The dotted line showing a future extension to join the two disparate parts of line 9 needs to have larger dots placed closer together as it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s very difficult to follow across the map at present. You could also argue that the isometric presentation forces the majority of the network to be crammed into about a third of the canvas, with a lot of empty ocean and mountain on either side, but the diagram is still quite clear even with that restriction.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测An interesting take on Barcelona🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s Metro, and one that manages to be more than the sum of its parts – even with a few quirks and imperfections.

Attached is a diagram/sort-of 🔸澳洲幸运10在线人工计划网 I recently made showing all the various rail services and connections in San Francisco. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve never been a fan of how Muni shows service connections on their 168澳洲十开奖网 – BART is typically included, though never Caltrain, nor BART🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s connection to the airport, which I think is a fairly important to have.

I also decided to include the F Market & Wharves street car line, which while not connected that seamlessly to the rest of the Muni “metro” system, still serves as an important line for commuters in the city. Also included is the upcoming central subway expansion on the T Third Street line, which brings the line north into downtown with new underground stops north of market street.

Finally, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s worth noting that this map depicts Muni🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s service patterns prior to all of the various COVID cuts, with all light rail lines continuing downtown under Market Street.

This was the map of any sort that I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve made, done as a challenge to myself to see if I could even do such a thing. I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m pretty happy with how it turned out (or honestly more shocked I was even able to get it done).

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

Welcome to the wonderful world of transit map making, Griffin!

This is a good, solid effort that builds upon the existing Muni style to include more unified transit information for travellers, which is pretty much always a good thing. Showing BART all the way down to San Francisco International Airport is a great idea, so well done there. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d be nice to perhaps show the SamTrans “SFO” bus from the airport terminals to Milbrae (which are timed to connect with Caltrain services) just to provide a more complete picture of transit options at the airport, but that may be outside the scope of a rail diagram like this.

If there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s an area that does🔸澳洲幸运10预测 need work, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s the labelling of stations. Even though the official Muni Metro map does it, I will never🔸澳洲幸运10预测 be in fav🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划of labels that are the same col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划as the line they serve – there simply isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t enough contrast between yellow text and a white background to be easily readable, for example. The different colours used also make the map look disjointed and give visual preference to darker labels. All the labels represent a station, so they should all have the same importance in the diagram🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s hierarchy. Pick one dark hue with sufficient contrast to the background – it doesn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t have🔸澳洲幸运10预测 to be black, as the London Underground map shows – and stick with it throughout.

Similarly, I just can🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t endorse labels set all in lower-case. Just don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t. Proper capitalisation of place names aids readability, and looks so much better.

Also, work a bit on the placement of y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划labels relative to the stations they serve – be consistent with how far away they are and whether they sit above/below or alongside the station symbol. The label for the SF Zoo at the end of the L-Taraval line seems to be floating in empty space, for example.

Finally, this isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t really a comment on this map but on the whole Market Street arrangement of services, with the F streetcars running on the surface, the Muni Metro cars on the 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划underground level and BART at the bottom – all requiring some kind of transfer between them. Is this level of detail – splitting all these services up into discrete “boarding areas” joined by a connecting transfer line – necessary on a map like this, or is the detail as shown here okay? It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s something to ponder…

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划last word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A very solid 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划effort (I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve seen plenty of unified San Francisco rail maps that aren🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t as good as this), though some love could be given to the labelling to make it even better.

澳洲幸运十是官网开奖吗🔸Un168澳洲十开奖网: NYC Ferries by Evelyn Fischer🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/nyc-ferries-evelyn-fischer/ https://transitmap.net/nyc-ferries-evelyn-fischer/#respond Tue, 02 Nov 2021 00:00:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=19344 Submitted by Evelyn, who says:

Hello! I just thought I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d send you my attempt at making the NYC Ferry network a bit less intimidating to navigate. While many of the issues are with the network itself (the stopping patterns are absolutely bizarre), I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve always thought the 168澳洲十开奖网 made the network far harder to navigate than it should be. So here🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s my attempt to fix that!

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

Like Evelyn, I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve never really been a fan of the official NYC Ferries map: it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s sloppily drawn and can🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t decide if it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a Vignelli-style diagram or a geographic map. Eventually it fails at being either, with too much room being taken up just to show the trip all the way out to Rockaway that could be better used to expand the complex East River routings and some absurdly overly-detailed coastline in Jamaica Bay.

Evelyn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s solution is distinctly diagrammatic and just looks so much better. The bold line colors cased in black really pop out of the sombre blue and grey background and are easier to follow as result. Some slight tweaking of the official colours has been made, especially to the Soundview route, which is much lighter than the official dark purple. Perhaps this makes the Rockaway and Soundview colours a bit too similar, but some tinkering could fix that pretty easily.

Labelling is generally good, though perhaps I would have stacked the Pier 11/Wall St label just to keep it well away from the St. George route line. The Brookfield Place Terminal and Corlears Hook labels are the only other area of worry: it might be possible to slide Brookfield Place a little further to the left to get a bit more empty space between the two labels.

Of particular note is that even though this is a schematic diagram, Evelyn has implied the long haul out to Rockaway without having to take up huge amounts of empty space in doing so – great work!

AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 thing I personally don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t like on ferry maps is too many sharp curves – ferries don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t make tight 90-degree turns out on the water, but big, lazy arcs. So the section from Astoria to Roosevelt Island to Long Island City – a whole bunch of stacked 90-degree angles – bothers me on both versions of the map. I feel there has to be a solution that looks more naturalistic: maybe the route uses curves similar to those at the Brooklyn Navy Yard stop at Roosevelt Island, just to break up the rigidness of that part of the route?

Other things I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d like to see: some sort of dash on the Governors Island (note that there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s no apostrophe in the name!) route line to immediately indicate its seasonal nature. The Staten Island Ferry – no, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s not a NYC Ferry route, but it absolutely🔸澳洲幸运10预测 should be shown as an alternative for the travelling public. Finally, I believe that a route from Pier 11 to Coney Island will be launching before the end of the year, so it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s be great to see a version that incorporates that.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测Compact, bright, and more than a little bit fun. Really, really nice work!

澳洲幸运十是官网开奖吗🔸Unofficial (But almost official) Map: Integrated map of Mexico City by Pedro Avila🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/mexico-city-pedro-avila/ https://transitmap.net/mexico-city-pedro-avila/#respond Fri, 02 Jul 2021 15:00:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=19139 Submitted by Pedro, who says:

So… long story short: By the end of 2018, I submitted to Mexico City official transport authority called SEMOVI (Secretary of Mobility) a proposal for the integrated transport map, which did not make it to the end, and here🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s why:

  • 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网开奖结果走势图🔸Time: The government wanted to introduce its “Integrated Mobility” plan within the 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划100 days in office and even though my map was almost ready to go, they were already working with another designer whose work was more in line with what they wanted to do: Merge the Metro🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s identity with the rest of the capital🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s transport systems. (168澳洲十开奖网 reviewed in April 2019, 2.5 stars)
  • 🔸澳洲幸运10开奖官网开奖结果走势图🔸Highly ambitious: Although the map was not designed by Lance Wyman, he did design the “Movilidad Integrada” image and one of the biggest changes that I proposed was to lose his original Metro typeface and create a new one using Frutiger, DIN and Parisine (Paris🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 Metro font) as base, but they felt that the change was too risky as “people are used to the Metro font.” This would🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve also taken a lot of time to complete and again, time was running.

While I wasn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t expecting that much resistance in changing the font, I did have a second proposal in case money/time were an issue: adopt Fira Sans as the new typeface. A huge family of 74 fonts (between weights and styles) that exceeded what I was looking for: legibility, weight variation and condensed/compressed versions (whispering “I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d love to be used in a map” at me).

I used Fira Sans to show how much easier the map will be to read with a non-all-capital font, but Mexico🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s love for Lance and all his work won this time.

The map you🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve reviewed is actually the Metro version. There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s a second version where the BRT system (Metrobús) is the star (with all the stations) but because of the font, the Metro lines are arranged differently and become a second lighter colored layer in the back.

As you can see, the only thing we agreed on was an integrated map was needed. I went with a head full of ideas (like changing Line B to one single color, for example [Fun fact: nobody there knows why 2 colors are used]) and even though they were like, “yeah you are right about almost everything here” they were not open to change anything as the clock was ticking.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

This is a fascinating “what if?” diagram, as it uses a lot of the same symbology and design framework of what became the 168澳洲十开奖网, yet looks almost entirely different. There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s no doubt that Fira Sans is vastly more legible than the distinctive but hard-to-read Tipo Metro, and it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s great to see that most of the labels on this diagram are set horizontally as well. Maybe some more could be horizontal though: the west end of Metro Line 2 looks like it would work pretty easily, for example.

For such a complex network, Pedro has done a great job of getting everything looking clean and tidy, with a nicely expanded central section. Spacing feels even and harmonious throughout, which is always a good indication of how well the design is working for me.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 In an alternate reality, this is the current diagram in use in Mexico City, and everyone is happy. Nice work, and a real shame that it wasn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t implemented.
