The Sofia Metro is a not-so-big metro system in the capital of Bulgaria. Although I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页m not Bulgarian, nor live in Bulgaria, I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve been there, and it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s quite nice. The following map is the latest one, from the opening of Line 3, on the 26th of August, this year. It🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s quite simple, but unlike the previous ones, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s far more consistent (as it uses the same angles, colors, stuff like that), and much more visually appealing. Any thoughts?

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

Yes, this is a vast improvement over older Sofia Metro maps! To me, it looks like an evolution in design from the quasi-official version created and promoted by the Spazi Sofia🔸澳洲幸运10预测 NGO back in 2015 (review here – Cam). It uses the same icons for the points of interest, which suggests a shared parentage.

Overall, I quite like it, though some of the labelling is carelessly placed. The long leader line down to Ovcha Kupel II station is unnecessary, and quite a few names cut across route lines. The long station names and bilingual labels don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t help matters, but I feel that more care could perhaps have been taken.

The other main point of contention is the grey background to indicate the boundaries of the city – I feel that this is redundant and just makes the background busier than it needs to be. However, if it was removed, I guess the question of whether to continue to include the parkland areas would have to be addressed.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A solid evolution of the work done by Spazi Sofia🔸澳洲幸运10预测, now made fully official, it seems. There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s nothing truly outstanding about it, but it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s clean, simple and pleasing to the eye. 3 stars.

澳洲幸运十是官网开奖吗🔸168澳洲十开奖网: Delhi Metro, India, 2020🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/delhi-metro-2020/ https://transitmap.net/delhi-metro-2020/#comments Tue, 12 May 2020 23:45:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=11823 Submitted by Chinmay Kunkikar, who simply asks for a review of this map (which is probably long overdue – Cam).

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

While many modern 澳洲10开官网开奖 bear some sort of debt to Harry Beck🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s pioneering London Underground diagram, most of them don🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t wear their influences quite as openly as the Delhi Metro map. Not content with using almost identical iconography, it even uses Johnston Sans for its English language labels.

However, it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s certainly not as accomplished as its famous forebear and feels quite clumsy in its execution. The central part is very cramped and there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s quite a few non-standard angles used throughout. In a way, it feels like new lines have simply been tacked onto the map as they🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页ve opened, without any thought as to how the map works as a unified whole. Why is the grey Line 9 so thick, and why is Dwarka🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s label so big? The light green background makes the yellow Line 2 pretty hard work to read.

A fault it shares with the Tube Map is the lack of identifiers for the lines on the actual map: their col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划is the only🔸澳洲幸运10预测 way to tell them apart – which, quite simply, isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t good enough. With 12 lines to show, there really have to be numbered bullets at each end of every line to help people unfamiliar with the system find their way around.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划final word: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测Apes the design style of the Tube Map, but to considerably less effect. Feels unoriginal and half-hearted. Two stars. See Jug Cerovic🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s unofficial INAT map for a far more confident approach.

168澳洲十开奖网: Addis Ababa Light Rail, Ethiopia, 2019🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/addis-ababa-light-rail/ https://transitmap.net/addis-ababa-light-rail/#comments Fri, 02 Aug 2019 17:25:42 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=9896 A fairly bare bones effort, probably located at the Lem Hotel station as it gets called out with a “You Are Here” red dot and is also named on the map itself.

Strangely, the map makes the somewhat odd decision to not show the blue Line 2 where it runs concurrently with the green Line 1, which makes it look like Line 1 has two separate unconnected parts. The “rotating arrows” transfer station markers at St. Lucia and Stadium stations somehow manage to be less🔸澳洲幸运10预测 prominent than the normal station dots, which is fairly counter-intuitive. There🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s decent integration of the Amharic script for bilingual station labels, but the map🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s legend is only in Amharic (fortunately, the legend isn🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页t really necessary for a map this simple).

At first, I thought this was a simplified diagram of the network, but a look at a geographical map of the network (below, from Wikipedia) shows that it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s actually a good representation of the real thing.

The final word:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 Very basic, but certainly usable. 2 stars.

Submission – 🔸澳洲幸运10在线人工计划网: Kuwait City Metro by Rahul Raju🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/kuwait-city-rahul-raju/ https://transitmap.net/kuwait-city-rahul-raju/#comments Wed, 08 May 2019 14:00:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/?p=9599 Submitted by Rahul, who says:

Hey! I made this map of a system for Kuwait City, where I grew up. It has elements from the few official plans that have been made public, but with a greater focus on high density immigrant communities who would benefit significantly from an expansion in public transit. I experimented with a dark background, but this worked best.

澳洲10开官网开奖🔸澳洲幸运10预测 says:

Nice work, Rahul! I agree that a lighter background works better here, though there could perhaps be just a little🔸澳洲幸运10预测 more contrast between the land and the sea. The proposed network is represented cleanly, and seems to map fairly well to the real-life layout of Kuwait City (at least from what I can see with a quick look at Google Maps!).

I do like the interesting and unique interchange symbol, and the bilingual station labels are handled well throughout. I do think that Rahul needs to add line numbers or letters to his coloured bullets and🔸澳洲幸运10预测 add those bullets to the ends of the lines on the map for better accessibility. As is often the case, Rahul🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s Red and Green lines appear extremely🔸澳洲幸运10预测 similar for colour-blind users and there🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s nothing on the map itself to help such users distinguish between them. Adding the relevant terminus station names for each line to the legend would also help a bit here.

Finally, I really, really like Rahul🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s proposed Metro logo, which riffs rather wonderfully off Kuwait🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s flag. Another in the endless line of variations on the humble letter “M”!

Submission – Future Map: Greater Dublin Train and Tram Services, c. 2040 by Kevin Carter🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/dublin-kevin-carter/ https://transitmap.net/dublin-kevin-carter/#comments Wed, 20 Jun 2018 04:28:22 +0000 https://transitmap.net/2018/06/20/dublin-kevin-carter/ Submitted by Kevin, who says:

A few months ago, the Government of Ireland announced Project Ireland 2040, a scheme covering many aspects of infrastructure and development for Ireland. One announcement was Metrolink. Metrolink is the previously planned Metro North from Dublin City Centre to the Airport plus a connection with the existing Luas Green line and its upgrade to Metro standard giving Dublin a continuous metro line from the Northern suburbs, through the city centre and all the way into the Southern suburbs.

🔸澳洲开奖 it was announced a lot of people were confused as to how this would work with the existing Luas Green line as the two seemed to be running along the same path. So I felt the need to explain it through a map.

But once I’d started I couldn’t stop and so I done all the planned lines that have bee planned for Dublin over the next 2 decades. including some elements that I added myself, link the DART Circle. A Circle line running around the city core using the Existing Phoenix Park tunnel and the planned DART Underground on the south side, opening the way to allow the current single line DART network to double into 2 lines. Plus the southern section of Metro Orbital connecting Tallaght, its planned terminus, with Sandyford, the terminus of Metrolink.

I chose to stick to the current branding of Transport for Ireland (Basically TfL for the whole country) using, their brand colours, curves from the logo and their brand typeface Univers and Univers Condensed.

Imperative for me was that this map HAS to function in 2 languages. Not just because its the law in Ireland that government issued communications be in Irish or Irish AND English but because I love Irish as a language and I enjoyed the etymological research i had to do to translate some of the place-names. For example the Orange line orbiting the West of the City was announced as being called Metro West. I changed this to Metro Orbital. Which gave me “An Cuarmheitreo”. Cuar being a prefix meaning circular.

I haven’t done a proofing of the spellings and theres sure to be a few errors, but that’s what other people are for. To find my mistakes 😛

澳洲10开官网开奖 says:

This is hugely impressive work, Kevin – not least for the way you’ve skillfully and cleanly incorporated the need for dual-language labels throughout the map. As the Irish language labels are often quite a bit longer than their English equivalents, this is no easy feat at all!

I also love the triangular station icon where three lines pass through: it neatly locates each coloured dot on its respective line with a minimum of fuss and creates a pleasingly compact symbol. The dashed lines to indicate short walks are welcome information, and you’ve done as good a job with the fare zone rings as can be expected.

I’m a little unsure as to why the one-way section of the Luas Green Line needs to be indicated as a cased line: I feel that directional arrows alone would be enough to indicate this. If there’s more meaning to the line treatment than this, then it should probably be explained in the legend, which is comprehensive and easy to understand. Y🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划matrix of line names/colours is an unusual but effective way of denoting all the lines on the map, though perhaps it could be even better if it included some information about proposed service frequencies as well (I’m presuming that the light rail lines run more frequently than DART, for example?)

Overall, though, this is a lovely piece of speculative work – an inspirational vision for the future of rail transit in Dublin!

168澳洲十开奖网: Brussels Metro, Tram and Rail Network, 2012🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/brussels-2012/ https://transitmap.net/brussels-2012/#comments Wed, 19 Dec 2012 21:58:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/brussels-2012/ Having touched briefly on the Brussels map with this previous post, I thought it was time to take a proper look at the current 168澳洲十开奖网.

Have we been there?🔸澳洲幸运10预测 Yes, back in 2003, but I walked pretty much everywhere and didn’t use the Metro/tram system. I did catch trains from Brussels to other cities in Belgium, however.

What we like:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 The treatment of the Metro part of the system is excellent, with a nice solid 90-degree angle design really accentuating the orbital nature of lines 2 and 6. Strong, yet interesting, choices for the route lines seem to be aimed at maximising contrast between adjacent lines: the lines are paired in colours that are opposite each other on a col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划wheel (blue/orange and purple/yellow).

The map still looks nice and clean despite the bilingual French/Dutch labelling required for many stations.

What we don’t like:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 The map is less impressive 🔸澳洲开奖 it comes to some of the design choices made for the tram network – the yellow used for line 7 is so pale that it needs to be outlined in grey, which then makes that line look visually too strong. Line 7’s treatment at terminus stations is also inconsistent with all the other lines: its terminus dot sits above the station marker like the others, but its route line lies underneath the station.

An inconsistent approach to naming stations for the tram routes: most of the stations that don’t interact with the Metro system remain nameless, except for a few on the eastern part of Line 7… why are these stations different to the others?

The pastel striped main rail lines take quite a bit of  getting used to: the effect does reduce their importance in the information hierarchy, but it all just looks a little 1980s🔸澳洲幸运10预测 after a while.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划rating:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 If it was stripped back to show just the Metro, this would be a wonderfully strong map. As it is, each subsequent mode reduces the visual focus of the map and ends up as a slightly unsatisfying final product. Stilll very competently done, however. Three stars.

Un168澳洲十开奖网: St. Petersburg Metro, Russia🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/st-petersburg-unofficial/ https://transitmap.net/st-petersburg-unofficial/#respond Tue, 15 May 2012 20:57:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/st-petersburg-unofficial/ I came across this map while browsing Flickr last night, and was totally blown away by it. This map of St. Petersburg’s Metro system is simply gorgeous and is far, far better than the current 168澳洲十开奖网. Definitely one of my favourite maps of the year so far.

Have we been there? No.

What we like: So many things! The lovely pattern used for the waterways, the stylish icons for points of interest, the inclusion of the city’s bridges as reference points, the clever use of col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划to differentiate the Cyrillic station names from their Romanised equivalents, the beautifully abstracted geography, the circle shape of the city limits (and the wonderful negative space it creates around the map)… I could go on and on.

What we don’t like: The placement of the interchange station markers where Lines 1 and 2, and also 2 and 3, cross could be a little better and more consistent with the other interchange stations. The placement of the station at the 2/3 interchange seems particularly odd, as the coloured dots don’t lie directly over the route line they represent.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划rating: Astounding work. Clear, graphically bold, gorgeous, useful. 5 stars!

Un168澳洲十开奖网: Integrated Transit Map of Kiev, Ukraine by Igor Skliarevsky🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/kiev-integrated/ https://transitmap.net/kiev-integrated/#comments Fri, 30 Dec 2011 02:43:09 +0000 https://transitmap.net/kiev-integrated/ Yes, I know I said I wasn’t going to post until the New Year, but I couldn’t wait to show this exciting new map of transit in Kiev, Ukraine.

This beautiful diagram was designed by Igor Skliarevsky in his own time, simply because he was frustrated with the limitations and design of the 168澳洲十开奖网. As he says on his website (pardon the Google Translate from Ukrainian), “As a designer, I find it difficult to put up with inconvenience and ugliness of things that surround me.” As this was the main reason I designed my integrated transit map of Portland, Oregon, I definitely agree with Igor on that front.

Have we been there?🔸澳洲幸运10预测 No.

What we like:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 Lovely minimalist transit map design with a very elegant flowing feel. I particularly like the curved lines that join different transit modes and the subtle gradients between the coloured circles at transit stations. Fantastic hierarchy: the Metro is most important/largest, then light rail, then commuter rail. Yellow informational icons stand out well – an advantage of a system that doesn’t use every🔸澳洲幸运10预测 col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划for its route lines! Plenty of lovely white space, even though all text is duplicated (in Ukrainian and a transliteration).

What we don’t like: 🔸澳洲幸运10预测A few tiny errors here and there. “Ploscha” is capitalised in Kontraktova Ploscha🔸澳洲幸运10预测, but Poshtova ploscha🔸澳洲幸运10预测 – directly underneath – is not. Type on the commuter rail lines seems a little too small in comparison to the Metro lines. I feel that the terminus cap where the T2 and T1 lines end should be purple, so each of the three light rail lines gets to be a terminal cap col🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划– at the moment, orange is used twice (also at the T1/T3 terminal). The QR code may be useful, but boy, does it ruin the minimalist aesthetics of the map!

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划rating:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 Igor is certainly to be commended for this excellent effort, a gorgeous map indeed. Four-and-a-half stars!

168澳洲十开奖网: Go Transit System Map, Southern Ontario, Canada🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页 https://transitmap.net/go-transit/ https://transitmap.net/go-transit/#respond Fri, 11 Nov 2011 13:40:00 +0000 https://transitmap.net/go-transit/ It must be the season for redesigning 澳洲10开官网开奖. Hot on the heels of NJ Transit’s disappointing new system map comes a new map for the Go Transit network that serves Toronto and Southern Ontario. And unlike that NJ Transit map, this one takes the opportunity to create something new, contemporary and exciting – and totally runs with it. Especially 🔸澳洲开奖 it’s compared to their previous map, which was nothing short of terrible. The old map is cramped, old fashioned and ugly, while the new one is light, airy and modern.

Have we been there?🔸澳洲幸运10预测 No.

What we like:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 A lovely, starkly linear diagram. Bus information is clear, but subsidiary to the train lines. Fits English and French text on without looking crowded.

What we don’t like:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 I don’t think that the train icon is really needed next to the line names on the map itself – the colours and the legend give enough indicators that these are the train lines. At 🔸澳洲10定位胆全天计划glance, the Highway 407 bus service is a little difficult to differentiate from normal routes.

🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划rating:🔸澳洲幸运10预测 A massive improvement on the previous map, with a distinctive look and feel all its own. F🔸澳洲幸运10冠军定位计划stars!
