Submitted by Sergio, who says: So I always wanted to design a diagram for Tokyo, but since it🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s so complex I🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页d postponed it several times until one week that I had nothing to do I started tackling it from scratch, using pen and paper before moving to Affinity Designer. I chose to design a map that includes both Tokyo Metro and Toei Metro, as well as one of the main train lines and the Shinkansen […]

A scanned slide showing a section of a wall-mounted Tokyo Metro map at a station (possibly Tokyo, judging by the dirty finger marks concentrated there). The lines of the Tokyo Metro are rendered in thick, bold colours that match pretty well with the current designations – yellow/gold for the Ginza Line, red for the Marunouchi Line, and grey/silver for the Hibiya Line. The competing Toei Subway🔸AB开奖网澳洲幸运10官网网页s Asakusa Line is not rendered in its modern pink/rose colour, […]

Via: comiccartography: Tokyo Wan/Contents Florent Chavouet Tokyo on Foot Lovely contents page illustration/map from Florent Chavouet’s book, Tokyo on Foot. The map is dominated by the circular Yamanote Line, with thick “train track” route lines and bright red stations. More than anything else on the page, this circle seems to define “Tokyo”. Quite lovely.

A lovely little slice of Tokyo life, complete with a very compact but informative strip map for the Yamanote Line: current station, connecting services (both in two languages), and estimated time to other stations on the line. It’s basically the analogue version of the digital map that’s on the trains themselves, as seen in this post. Source: tokyoform/Flickr

An anonymous follower asks: “Do you have any examples of a line map for a loop/circle line? I’m curious as to how those are implemented.” 澳洲10开官网开奖 says: Generally, a strip map for a loop or circle line follows much the same principles as a usual one, although the available space may have to be used a little more creatively in order to fit things in. Above are a few interesting examples. London’s Circle Line: […]
